My last appointment for 2025 was a cracker.
Today I attended the Flinders University Developmental Education Capstone Presentation Day 👏
This was our first year working with the DE Capstone Projects and was blown away by the end results.
As a disability led social enterprise who's mission is to break down barriers to physical activity and exercise this important work goes a long way to supporting our mission.
Led by James Martin and brought to life by Anne and Dakota they produced three fantastic resources, Exercise Physiology Easy Read, Hydrotherapy Easy Read and Know Before you Go booklet.
These resources will be reviewed and endorsed by our good friends at South Australian Council on Intellectual Disability Inc before going live on our website early next year.

The atmosphere was electric, the room packed to capacity and emotions were high as we came together for our biggest most awesome end of year celebrations yet 👏

In their words follows the story of four people and their journey with Immersion Therapy.
This story is in celebration of 2025 International Day of People with Disability - Australia (IDoPwD) and 10 Years of Determined2 and Immersion Therapy.
This years theme "fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress" aligns with Determined2's mission to make exercise and physical activity more accessible and elevating the value of inclusion and lived experience, as a disability led social enterprise Determined2's mission is to demonstrate what's possible.

A fun day of sharing and learning with the amazing Kathryn Mills from Hireup.
We started off with a lunchtime education session learning all about Hireup and how as Australia's only national NDIS registered platform provider they help people find and connect with their ideal supports. We also learnt about other ways Hireup support people including cost free navigation services.
After lunch, Kathryn took the plunge underwater exploring Immersion Therapy with our very special PD program 😀

Sometimes the biggest successes we see are away from the pool.
Check out the impressive medal haul from long time Immersion Therapy participant Joelene (Joels) won at this years Portland Tri State Games 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅
Taking out a massive 7 medals, we are super proud of Joels's amazing efforts and seeing the rewards of all her hard work below and above the water.

A massive 5-Year Workiversary shout-out to three Determined2 champions: James, Mikhaela, and Hank! ❤️

These three started their journey five years ago as new graduates, hand-chosen by Determined2, and supervised by Dr. Kade Davison from the University of South Australia and the Alliance for Research in Exercise, Nutrition and Activity.

Today we celebrate the one and only Tim Maloney OAM on his 10 years Workaversary 🥳
We first met Tim 10 years ago today and since that time Tim has been a valuable team member bringing his expertise to the development and delivery of Immersion Therapy.
Tim has put his hand to many jobs including development of standards and programs, service delivery, mentoring and training and while you may not see him on the pool deck much these days continues to provide great support to the ongoing development and growth of Determined2 and Immersion Therapy.
Congratulations Tim 🎉 and thank you for being such an important part of what we do ❤️
