Did the talking head thing recently. Have a listen. Was largely a discussion aimed at GPs regarding breast augmentation risks. And because there is now an obligation for all patients seeking augmentation to be referred by their GPs, hopefully this helps in those conversations.

Over the last 100 years, numerous types of implants (i.e. ivory, glass, wool) and injections (i.e. epoxy resin, beeswax, paraffin) have been used in an attempt for breast augmentation but the results were poor. Hi there. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year etc etc.

Our website has now been updated with an important announcement. I mentioned this on Instagram a few days ago.

In 2022 I will be closing my Gold Coast practice. I will be making further announcements in Feb 2022 regarding the relaunch of the practice. In the meantime, keep an eye on our social accounts. A new wesite will also be going live early in the new year.

This is a significant decision for me, and I appreciate it may be significant for past patients of the practice. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.

**Please note the following announcement relates to the unique complexities of providing DIEP flap breast reconstruction, and applies only to patients seeking advice regarding delayed breast reconstruction after breast cancer.**

An update for ladies seeking info/advice about DIEP flap breast reconstruction:

Unfortunately, I am just one surgeon and I can only do so much. I have now reached a point where I have been overwhelmed by demand and I can no longer keep up. This has forced me to make the decision to close my appointment book to new and unconfirmed patients at this stage. I am now overbooked for surgery in 2021 for delayed recon patients, with no spare slots for additional DIEP cases in this calendar year.

For patients who have been considering their options, for those patients who have been thinking about taking out private insurance, or for those patients who had not yet locked in an operation date, I apologise that we cannot fit you in this year.

For those patients who have already committed to an operation date, there will be no change to your existing arrangements.

I understand that this will disappoint some people. Our philosophy of offering breast reconstruction on “known gap” schemes has perhaps lead to this overwhelming demand, given the usual costs associated with reconstructive procedures.

We will have further announcements to make in due course.
