Hi everyone
Latest info on mandatory mask wearing from SA Health. Let's all wear masks. I will keep an eye on notifications as situation changes frequently.
Take care everyone.

❗️ MASK UPDATE ❗️

All people in health care settings must wear a mask (covering mouth and nose) at all times when in the physical presence of other people on the premises (with exceptions).

Reusable cloth masks can now be accepted in some health care settings.

Single-use surgical masks should be worn in some clinical environments.

All people includes:
▪️ care providers
▪️ patients
▪️ clients
▪️ administrative and other staff
▪️ employees
▪️ visitors
▪️ students
▪️ contractors
▪️ any other person on the premises

❗️ There are exceptions for mandatory mask use in health care settings:
▪️ A patient or client and/or a person providing care is not required to wear a mask if the wearing of a mask will hinder the provision of the relevant care and/or impact patient or client safety.

▪️ Hospital inpatients are generally not expected to wear masks except when being transported through public spaces.

▪️ A person receiving individual care in their own home is not expected to wear a mask.

▪️ A person is not required to wear a mask if they have a relevant medical condition, including problems with their breathing, a serious condition of the face, a disability or a mental health condition

▪️ A person is not required to wear a mask in circumstances where the ability to see the mouth is essential for communication, such as to enable communication by or with any person who is deaf or hard of hearing

▪️ A patient or client under the age of 12 is not required to wear a mask

▪️ A resident or live-in staff member of a residential care facility is not required to wear a mask, including in circumstances in which it is not possible to comply with the physical distancing principle.

▪️ A person will be considered to be in the physical presence of another person if they are in the same room as that other person.

Wriggle those big toes!

Big toe doesn’t move much???

Did you know that if your big toe lacks flexion, will force the same hip and the opposite shoulder to work much harder.

Bowen Therapy may help. Do yourself and your body a favour, get some Bowen today.

One of my wins in the clinic has been seeing good recovery in a young soccer player from a
"clicking knee" left leg.

She had had the clicking knee for some time and it was frustrating and would increase in intensity as she ran faster. ( soccer = lots of running with intermittent sprinting). This was effecting her game and confidence on the pitch.

I found all the leg, glutes and lower back muscles tight and especially attachments on left leg and knee. She relaxed well and commented that the leg and knee was feeling a lot looser. It was now a matter of putting it to the test.

She came for a following treatment and said that it had improved and was less pronounced.
After a small number of treatments the
clicking was eliminated and better tracking in her running gait led to big smiles and more confidence in her game.

I find Bowen so effective at loosening tightness in muscles from training or pushing the limits.

Looking forward to sport, any sport later this month!

I am a Bowen Therapist because I enjoy the simple, wholistic effective way it resolves clients conditions.

I enjoy the process of listening, observing and treating. I work with the client for better outcome with simple exercises.

It's finding the sweet spot that I strive for. Combining all the elements together for the ultimate outcome.

This artwork " Murmuration" by Cai Guo-Qiang is a brilliant example of smaller seemingly insignificant parts transforming into a bigger beautiful piece. 🤗

The clearest links between my worlds of clay and Bowen are palpation skills and problem solving.

When you work with clay you find it's many variations in texture and workability. Soft, hard, open, dense, wet, leather hard & dry.

Muscles and soft tissue aren't quite the same but my sensitivity to texture is still with me.

Clay and ceramic design are hard task masters. Many variations and consequences lead to the result from the kiln.

There is more than one way to end up at the same place but I am bound by first principles. An understanding of raw materials in relation to anatomy gives me scope for structural integrity in both forms.

Before Bowen and Remedial Therapies I made pottery/ceramics.

From mugs to sculpture I was captivated by clay. The challenge of design and transforming with my hands.

Here's a blast from the past and me with a couple of bowls of my favourite blue and white.

I've even revisited this past with a new side hustle (😎) private tutoring pottery.

There's an intrinsic link between my two passions. 😊🙌
