Carrot & Chicken Breakfast Muffins 🫶

A wholesome, protein-rich start to your day! Unexpected combination of flavours. Perfect for busy mornings or a savoury snack on the go.

These muffins are packed with nourishing ingredients like carrot, spring onion and gently poached chicken, bringing together comfort and nutrition in every bite.

Prep: 15 mins
Cook: 35 mins
Makes: 13 muffins

Ingredients
• 2 medium chicken breasts (300 g)
• 5 cloves garlic
• 1 celery stick, diced
• 1 bay leaf (optional)
• 350 g grated carrot or squash
• 2 spring onions, finely chopped
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 Tbsp olive oil (add after phase 2 if following reset)

Method
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 190 °C and boil water.
2️⃣ Simmer chicken with garlic, celery, salt, and bay leaf for 15 mins. Cool slightly, shred, and chop.
3️⃣ Combine chicken, garlic, cinnamon, salt, onions, and grated carrot (squeeze out some juice). Add olive oil.
4️⃣ Shape into small patties and place in greased muffin wrappers.
5️⃣ Bake for 20 mins until golden. Cool slightly and enjoy!

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days, perfect for a grab-and-go breakfast or lunchbox addition.

This Thai-inspired Green Papaya Salad with Shrimp proves that your Metabolic Balance meals can be light, zesty, and bursting with flavour

Green (unripe) papaya is the star here ⭐️
Packed with papain, a natural enzyme that helps your body break down proteins and ease bloating. Paired with fresh lime, tamarind, and juicy shrimp, it’s basically summer in a bowl

SAVE ME for your next warm-weather lunch 🫶

Green Papaya Salad with Shrimp ~ Serves 1
• 130 g large shrimp
• 2 tsp coconut oil
• Salt + black pepper
• 2 garlic cloves
• 2 Thai red chiles
• 2 tbsp lime juice
• 1 tbsp fish sauce
• 2 tsp tamarind juice
• 1 cup (150 g) julienned green papaya
• 3 cherry tomatoes, quartered
• 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro

Method:
1. Sauté shrimp in coconut oil with salt and pepper for ~2 minutes, until just cooked.
2. In a mortar & pestle, pound garlic + chiles into a paste (or finely mince).
3. Mix in lime juice, fish sauce, and tamarind juice.
4. In a bowl, toss papaya + tomatoes with the dressing and cilantro.
5. Add shrimp and enjoy!

Lemon Herb Chicken with Asparagus & Quinoa 🤌🏼

Did you know Spring is your liver’s favourite season? 🥹

So your body’s probably begging for a little spring clean… and you can start with this balanced plate!
It will get your gut & hormones humming again ✔️

SAVE ME FOR LATER ✨

You’ll need:
• 120–150g chicken breast (or tofu/tempeh for veg)
• ½ cup cooked quinoa
• 1 bunch asparagus
• ½ cup baby spinach or rocket
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• Juice ½ lemon
• 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
• Fresh parsley + dill (or mint)
• Sea salt + pepper

How to:
1. Cook quinoa + set aside.
2. Grill chicken with olive oil, salt + pepper.
3. Steam asparagus until tender-crisp.
4. Toss spinach, herbs, lemon juice + ACV.
5. Add quinoa + asparagus, top with sliced chicken.
6. Finish with olive oil + lemon zest.

Here’s how to make it 👉🏻

In a baking dish, add:
• 1 block feta
• 1 punnet cherry tomatoes
• 2 cloves minced garlic
• A drizzle of olive oil
• Sprinkle of thyme + parsley
• Pinch of salt & pepper

1. Bake until the tomatoes burst and the feta is soft + creamy.
2. Spiralise zucchini into noodles, then toss it all together while it’s still warm.

This October, Healthful are celebrating Menopause Awareness Month 🍒

We’ll be opening up essential conversations, on a stage in every woman’s life, that’s often pushed into the shadows.

Perimenopause and menopause aren’t just “symptoms to suffer through.”

They’re real, lived experiences that can effect every part of a woman’s life; our bodies, our moods, our sleep, our relationships, even how we see ourselves…

And yet, so many women feel like they’re navigating it alone or have anxiety as that stage of life creeps in 🥲

So this month, we’re pulling the curtain back.
We’ll be talking openly about what’s really happening, how to support your body (and mind) through those shifts, and reminding you that needing extra care during this transition is not weakness, it’s actually a hugeeee flex 😘

Your reminder that menopause isn’t the end of anything… it’s the beginning of living in a body that’s asking you to listen, honour, and support it differently.

Isn’t it beautiful that we get to evolve through so many phases in one lifetime, and still call the same body home?

Our vision at Healthful is to create a nourishing environment for women from all walks of life. It is our goal to provide realistic and easy to implement health plans as well as a range of health services to the women of Adelaide as well as now Australia wide. We believe that health is a way of life and we love to encourage each individual to make the steps necessary to achieve their own health goals.

Our Naturopaths, Jacqui and Gemma are here to support you in the best way possible.

Jacqui specialises in symptoms such as peri to post menopause, fibroids, thyroid disorders, endometriosis, PMS and amenorrhoea.

Gemma has a keen interest for gut health, stress related disorders, teenage hormone health, pre- pregnancy support and auto-immune disease.
