WE CREATE OUR REALITY ⁣

Through my own (still continuing) journey of recovery from chronic illness and in helping many others to do the same, there is one thing I know to be true. ⁣

We create our reality. ⁣

If you believe you can, or you believe you can’t - you’re right either way. ⁣

It’s more than valid to feel like recovery is hard, even awful and damn near impossible some days. To be met with a body that’s constantly unwell and depleted is a challenge like nothing I’ve never experienced before in my life. I witness this in clients too - when you’re in the thick of healing, there are multiple moments where slipping back into old routines and habits is so appealing. It’s comfortable and familiar, even if detrimental for our health long term and a contributor for why we are sick in the first place.

In times of turbulence, I remember these words from Eleanor Roosevelt - in fact, I have it pinned on my wardrobe door as a friendly reminder daily. You MUST do the things you think you cannot do, consistently and with deliberate intention to create the health and well-being you desire. Across all areas of your experience - mental, physical, spiritual.⁣

Don’t set the bar low for what you can achieve for your recovery - you ARE capable of changing your morning routine, exercising daily, cleansing, meditating, giving up caffeine, going to bed earlier, establishing boundaries in your relationships etc. Tackle those things you believe are out of your reach, because that’s where the very necessary work is. Let me put it this way, you can’t unlock new doors with old keys. Gather your team (I’m always here if you need me) and go get after it ✌🏻. One day at a time, bit by bit. ⁣

Morning is the magic window of your day. Set up a successful routine during this time and you will be on the fast track path to recovery and long term optimum health. ⁣⁣⁣

However, and I can’t stress this enough - you will not succeed (long-term) in a morning routine without executing strategy the night before. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Here are my 3 SECRET NIGHT TIME TIPS for securing a successful morning routine to kickstart your healing every single day: ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
▻Get to bed EARLY - be asleep by 10pm most days. 7-8 hours of sleep, utilising the key cleansing and body repair window from 10pm-2am, is critical to ensure optimum energy for the morning and day to follow. ⁣⁣⁣
▻Get yourself into the kitchen before you go to bed and CLEAN UP. Get your juicer ready for the next day, organise breakfast, pack your lunch, do the dishes and any other preparation required. Trust me, this 10-20 minute practice every evening in your kitchen will save you so much stress and overwhelm the next day. ⁣⁣⁣
▻And lastly, PLAN AHEAD where you can. Iron the shirt you’re wearing tomorrow, draft the email, sign the consent form for your kids excursion or lay out your exercise gear ready to go once the alarm shuttles you out of sleep. ⁣⁣⁣

GLUCOSE IS NOT THE PROBLEM! ⁣⁣

Man oh man, does sugar get a bad wrap these days. When it comes to processed sugars yes absolutely, totally rubbish for your health and should be consumed in the smallest amounts. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
However, whole natural glucose found in fruit, vegetables, wild foods, herbs and spices? Absolutely ESSENTIAL to human health and recovery. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Where insulin resistance, weight gain, fluid retention and a whole array of other issues often stem from is the chronic over consumption of a high fat diet with glucose combined. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
High consumption of fats in your diet, even good ones, place burden on the liver, pancreas and adrenal glands- the key powerhouses that regulate your blood sugar. A high fat diet, in team with high glucose (more often than not for many, processed sugars) leads to a sluggish liver, burnt out pancreas and fatigued adrenals that can no longer regulate, store and release glucose in an optimum way. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
So how do we effectively heal and keep the delicate balance between fat and glucose in check? Here are my top 3 tips to get your health back on track: ⁣⁣
1. Lessen your daily fat intake to NO MORE than 10-15% overall as you heal. If you’re critically unwell at the moment, a period of time fat free might be required in order to circuit break symptoms and give your liver and other organs a much needed break. ⁣⁣
2. Radically DECREASE processed sugars and INCREASE your critical clean carbohydrates and glucose found in the whole foods mentioned above. This will help to rebalance your blood sugars and heal the body overall (see our story above for more information 👆🏻)⁣⁣
3. Stop combining fat with glucose, VERY IMPORTANT! Eat fresh fruit always on its own (about an hour away from other food), avoid putting nuts, seeds, milks, yoghurt etc. in your smoothies and veto dessert (especially fresh fruit) after a high fat meal. More tips coming soon, stay tuned ✌🏻⁣⁣

I’ve said it once, and I’ll continue to say it over and over again. ⁣⁣

Your body DOES NOT attack itself. It has been said by Ayurveda far longer than you and I have been around, that living things (humans included) continually strive to maintain equilibrium. Your body’s main job is to sustain your life, not destroy it. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The theory behind many forms of chronic disease is that your body (i.e. your immune system) is attacking itself resulting in the array of symptoms experienced by many (). Your body IS on the attack, but not towards itself. More often than not, your body is defending you against the listed factors above - to which the combination and severity differs for everyone. Hence the extreme variability of symptoms across the spectrum of chronic illness. ⁣⁣

EFFECTIVE STRATEGIES FOR REDUCING CELLULITE THROUGH HEALING YOUR LIVER & ELIMINATION SYSTEMS ⁣

1. Consume a whole food plant based diet high in fruits, vegetables, wild foods, herbs and spices. Eliminate troublemaker foods that pose strain on the liver and elimination pathways (I.e the lymphatic system). ⁣
2. Implement a morning cleanse routine daily and further deeper cleansing if required under the guidance of your Practitioner. ⁣
3. Reduce your fat intake to 10-15% of your daily intake.⁣
4. Hydrate deeply with living liquids throughout the day - lemon water, coconut water etc. ⁣
5. Reduce or eliminate alcohol from your diet, it’s a poison for the liver and the body in general. ⁣
6. Be mindful of your chemical exposure through your food and environment - reduce where possible. ⁣
7. Introduce dry brushing (Udwarthana) into your daily routine. Ask us for assistance and more information if needed. ⁣

LET’S TALK INFLAMMATION ⁣

Aside from acute injuries, it is important to understand that inflammation does not occur spontaneously in the body. ⁣

Many of the clients I work with suffer from digestive system inflammation, forcing them to often remove foods such as diary, eggs and gluten from their diets. ⁣

Through removing these foods amongst others, people battling digestive discomfort begin to feel better, but not for reasons often described. If these foods are inflammatory, why can some individuals eat them (and in abundance) with no side effect and others suffer endlessly? ⁣

The answer (thank you ) is INVADERS. For example, some pathogens that cause horrific disruption to the human body include streptococcus, EBV, shingles, CMV and HHV-6. To name a few. ⁣

The above mentioned foods in themselves are not inflammatory, however can create inflammation when feeding pathogens already residing and proliferating in the body. This is true of chronic inflammation extending beyond the digestive system also. ⁣

So yes absolutely, we need to remove foods that feed invaders and therefore cause symptoms, but that is only one piece of the puzzle. Reducing pathogen and toxin load through diet, lifestyle and cleansing is essential to all sufferers of chronic inflammation to ensure long term optimal health and a full recovery. ⁣
