the Beyond South Socialise group ventured out to Cleland Wildlife Park for a day full of close encounters with Aussie wildlife! From meeting kangaroos up close to spotting sleepy koalas in the treetops, the group enjoyed a fun, relaxed day surrounded by nature and great company. 🐾🌳

The Choices Socialise program is all about getting out into the community, enjoying recreational activities, building friendships, and discovering the best of Adelaide.

Participants work together every 6 weeks to plan the activities they’d like to do β€” and Cleland was a wild favourite!

✨ Last Friday, CBS Inc. proudly hosted the AUSTRALIA VERSUS SPAIN – Employment and Disability National Forum at the Adelaide Pavilion!

This forum opened up important discussion – a comparison of two systems ( AUSTRALIA and SPAIN) and how we can learn from each other to build a more inclusive future.

We were honoured to have Louise Miller-Frost MP, Member for Boothby open the forum, a Welcome to Country from Cliffy Wilson (Kuma Kaaru), and our inspiring MC Megan , CBS Inc. Moonlight Speaker, share her story and host this forum.

πŸ‘ A highlight was Zac's powerful speech, giving personal consumer insights that truly resonated with everyone in the room.

🌍 After lunch, Marta Navarro MiliÑn Fundación Prodis took us through the Spanish & European disability system, followed by Mimi and Marta, who shared a global comparison of disability systems and how we can learn from each other. And followed with Questions,Chaired by Peter Bacon.

The forum closed with heartfelt words from Freddie Brincat OAM, Founder & Executive Director of CBS Inc., who reminded us that working together builds a stronger, more inclusive future.

Our Choices Socialize group had an amazing day out at Happy Valley Reservoir. We enjoyed scenic walks, shared laughs, and soaked up the fresh air β€” the perfect way to connect and unwind in nature! πŸ₯ΎπŸŒž
Choices Socialise is all about enjoying fun recreational activities out in the community, building new friendships, exploring Adelaide, and simply having a great time!
Participants come together every six weeks to plan activities for the program, choosing outings and experiences that interest them most. The program runs every Thursday from 10:00am – 3:00pm.

✨ What a fantastic day at our Whyalla Open Day!

We kicked off with a warm welcome from Tricia Gerahty, Whyalla NDIS Coordinator who set the tone by introducing today’s activities and extending heartfelt thanks to the Whyalla community for their ongoing support.

Simone Brown, Whyalla Jobnet Coordinator then introduced our dedicated Whyalla Jobnet team, highlighting the important role they play in creating pathways to employment and acknowledging the strong partnerships and continued backing from the Whyalla community that make this work possible.

Tricia Gerahty, Whyalla NDIS Coordinator proudly introduced our Whyalla NDIS team and spoke about how we support people with disability to live fulfilling, independent lives. Her words were a true reflection of our commitment to building opportunities and creating lasting impact locally.

We are excited to welcome Marta Navarro MiliΓ‘n, Responsable de Relaciones Institucionales at FundaciΓ³n Prodis in Madrid, as a key speaker for the Australia V Spain: Employment and Disability National Forum.

β€œWith my experience in the EU and now with FundaciΓ³n Prodis, I’ve seen how strong government policies – like employment quotas – can create progressive new pathways to jobs, careers, and further education for people with disability, including those with intellectual disability. I look forward to sharing these insights and learning from you too.” – Marta Navarro MiliΓ‘n

Joining Marta will be Mireia (Mimi) Artero-Medina, Project Leader of Aim Higher and Aim Wider at CBS Inc. Mimi brings an educational background from Spain and international experience from the USA. We’re excited to welcome Megan Sadler as our Master of Ceremonies for the day!
Megan is your Master of Ceremonies for the day. Megan is 26 and has a background in hospitality, aged care and disability advocacy. Megan is passionate about helping people in need, sharing her story so other people are inspired. Megan is also a CBS Inc. client and a Moonlight Speaker, assisting in a range of CBS Inc. projects, including the launch of CBS Inc. Mini-Woolies in Port Pirie. Megan is looking forward to connecting with you all soon.

Our inspiring guest speaker is Zac Colton!
Zac is 27 years old and lives with an intellectual disability and Kabuki Syndrome. Zac has a strong background in disability advocacy, completing a term on the NDIS Participant Reference Group and working in the CBS Inc. Aim Wider program where he presents his life experience to the participants and the broader community. Zac also works in The Growing Space and brings strong administrative skills and a Certificate III in IT. Zac is passionate about making things easier for people with disabilities, creating more opportunities for everyone. Zac currently working with CBS Inc., SACID, and he is a ambassador of Make it Easy.

Louise has spent her entire working life delivering outcomes that make a real difference in people’s lives.
Louise left a job as CEO of St Vincent de Paul S.A to run for the seat of Boothby, winning the seat for Labor for the first time in 73 years.
Louise knows what it takes to get things done, delivering health services and support for older Australians and people with disability.
Louise supports economic opportunities for local businesses and spearheaded the retention and expansion of libraries, community centres, sporting clubs and open spaces.
A mum of triplet sons and a step-mum to three more sons, all now adults, Louise is a strong voice for Boothby, working every day at:
β€’ easing cost of living pressures on families by delivering cheaper medicines, limiting power price increases and managing the budget responsibly
β€’ taking real action on climate change
β€’ strengthening Medicare, making it easier and more affordable to go to the doctor
