Raising Awareness on Dog Welfare

A recent ABC News article highlights the importance of awareness and understanding when it comes to those in our community who rely on Guide & Assistance Dogs. Moments like this remind us how valuable education and compassion are in supporting handlers and their dogs in everyday community settings. We hope this real-life story from one of our See Differently Guide Dog clients and Client Advisory Committee – Deputy Chair Nicole, raises further awareness, respect, and kindness for handlers, for their dogs, and for the broader community.

At See Differently, we take the welfare of our dogs extremely seriously. In line with our International Accreditations with International Guide Dog Federation and ADI - Assistance Dogs International our clients receive extensive training to ensure their dogs’ well-being is always prioritised, from recognising environmental risks like extreme heat to ensuring every outing is safe, positive, and appropriate. These dogs are not just working animals; they are trusted companions and are cared for with the utmost respect.

International Day Of Education | Learning Without Limits

Today, on International Day of Education, we would like to celebrate Braille, a powerful tool that opens doors to learning, independence, and opportunity for people who are living with vision loss.

Access to Braille is more than literacy; it’s equal access to education, confidence in the classroom, and pathways to meaningful employment. By supporting Braille literacy, we help create learning environments where everyone can thrive.

Travel With Confidence | Guide & Assistance Dogs Welcome

We’re excited to share that the 13cabs app now includes a disability opt-in for passengers travelling with a Guide or Assistance dog. This feature lets drivers know your needs in advance, creating safer, smoother, and more respectful journeys.

Accessible travel is essential for independence. By making it easier for people with Guide or Assistance dog to get around, this app helps challenge discrimination and raise awareness about the vital role these animals play.

Whether it’s commuting, appointments, or social activities, the 13cabs disability opt-in ensures your journey is reliable, inclusive, and stress-free , every ride, every time.

Well done to the team at 13cabs, we look forward to supporting our See Differently Guide & Assistance dog clients further in 2026!

Shape the Future of Digital Accessibility!

Do you use assistive technology or adjust device settings to get online? If you answered - Yes, your experiences and voice matter!

Intopia in partnership with disability advocacy groups and the Round Table on Information Access for People with Print Disabilities, is conducting the Assistive Technology Survey, now in its third year and the most comprehensive survey across Australia and New Zealand.

This survey explores how assistive technology is used online, emerging trends like AI, and real-world experiences that will inform better policy, product design, and accessibility innovation. The survey is accessible, anonymous, and closes on Friday 6 February 2026. By sharing your insights, you can help build a more inclusive and equitable digital world.

We encourage you to take the survey and make your voice heard by following the link to the survey >> https://bit.ly/IntopiaSurveyHaveYourSay

Our Year In Review | Raising Awareness & Changing Lives

In 2025, our stories travelled further than ever, across TV, radio, podcasts and print helping shine a spotlight on what’s possible when people living with vision loss or veterans living with PTSD are supported to thrive.

From Guide & Assistance Dog graduations to the growth of our Peer Support Program, each story shared one powerful message: independence, confidence and connection can change lives.

Faces like Milly and her See Differently Guide Dog Bixby, Spencer our PR superstar, and Grant with his See Differently OPK9 Assistance Dog bring this impact to life. Behind every story is a community of dedicated volunteers, staff and four-legged heroes making it all possible.

Our 2024/2025 Annual Report highlights the progress we’ve made together and the foundations we’re building for 2026.
