Each affects vision differently, yet all can impact everyday life. The earlier you seek support, the more options there are to help you stay independent and keep doing what you love.

Appreciation Post | Thank You Corporate Supporters

Last week we proudly celebrated the OPK9 Class of 2026 with See Differently.

Eleven Veterans and their See Differently OPK9 Assistance Dogs graduated. This is the only program of its kind in South Australia supporting Veterans living with PTSD through highly trained Assistance Dogs.

Across Australia, only a handful of programs like this exist, with the Department of Veterans' Affairs partnering with just five accredited providers nationally.

Together, these partnerships are helping veterans move forward, with a dog by their side. Our OPK9 Assistance Dog Program would not be possible without the support of our incredible Corporate Supporters >> https://bit.ly/2026SeeDifferentlyOPK9Graduation

Pup Of The Month | Meet Yonda

Yonda is our delightful 8 month old pup who loves affection, play, and adventure. She shares a very special bond with her best friend Stormy.

Yonda enjoys her daily walks and is a favourite at Pembroke School, where the students adore her. She’s also a natural on public transport, confidently navigating buses, busy shops, and even moving easily on and off travellators.

We’re so proud of all that Yonda has achieved and can’t wait to see where her training journey takes her next.

Want to be part of shaping the future? Open your heart and home in 2026 and see the difference you can make by following this link to our website >> https://bit.ly/SeeDifferentlyVolunteer

Celebrating OPK9 Class of 2026

Last week we proudly celebrated the OPK9 Class of 2026.

Eleven veterans and their incredible See Differently OPK9 Assistance Dogs graduated from our OPK9 Assistance Dog Program, marking the beginning of a powerful partnership built on trust, companionship and renewed independence.

These partnerships represent years of dedication, from the Instructors who carefully train each dog, to the Volunteers who raise and care for them, and the Veterans who commit to the journey of working alongside their See Differently OPK9 Assistance Dog.

We also recognised five loyal See Differently OPK9 Assistance Dogs who retired from their years of service. Their unwavering support has helped their Veterans navigate life with greater confidence and connection, and we thank them for the extraordinary role they have played.

Programs like OPK9 are only possible thanks to the support of our community. We extend our sincere thanks to our Major Funding Partner, the Australian Government Department of Veterans' Affairs, along with our Corporate Partners, Animal Welfare Partners and Event Sponsors who make this life changing program possible.

Congratulations to all of our graduating teams and thank you to everyone who continues to support our See Differently OPK9 Assistance Dog program.

Accessible Voting Options | Upcoming South Australian State Election

With the upcoming South Australian state election just around the corner, we want our community to be aware of the accessible voting options available for people who are blind or living with low vision.

The Electoral Commission of South Australia provides several options to support independent voting, including:
• Telephone Assisted Voting for eligible voters
• Postal voting
• In-person voting with assistance from a trusted person or election staff

There are also several inclusive voting locations designed to create a more comfortable and supportive experience, including:
• Carrington Centre, Adelaide – step-free access, low glare lighting and reduced noise flooring
• Elizabeth Civic Centre – accessible restrooms, reduced glare lighting and quiet nearby spaces
• Morialta Uniting Church, Magill – step-free access, quiet room and hearing loop

All locations will have trained electoral staff available to assist voters with both visible and hidden disabilities.

World Glaucoma Week | 8 - 14 March 2026

This World Glaucoma Week, See Differently is encouraging everyone to book an eye examination this month!

Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide, yet if detected early is completely treatable. Most people with glaucoma are not aware of it, with zero or few symptoms, which is why regular eye examinations are vital.

See Differently's Low Vision Optometrists recommend annual eye examinations for those over 65 and examinations every two years for those under 65, and if you notice your vision changing or want to speak with someone who understands low vision, contact our friendly team at See Differently today on >> 1300 944 306.
