ABORIGINAL KNOWLEDGES CENTRE at UniSA

The University of South Australia will build an Aboriginal Knowledges Centre this year at its City West campus, with completion expected in 2026, thanks to a nationally significant gift from the Wood Foundation and University funding.

The centre, Yaitya Ngutu Wardli in the Kaurna language, will include indoor and outdoor spaces that provide a supportive, welcoming environment for Aboriginal students, staff and community members, and a space to encourage discussions between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples.

EQUITY, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION AWARD

Congratulations to the physiotherapy team at Uni SA for creating a culturally safe space for students.

Dr Julie Walters (Program Director) and the Physiotherapy Program Team

Led by Dr Walters the Physiotherapy Program team have focused strongly on ensuring their curriculum and teaching experience is culturally safe and inclusive for a diverse student cohort. In addition, the curriculum also models equity and inclusiveness for the physiotherapy students to embed this into their approach to both practice and their general character.
