How often did we say to children, "Eat your greens!"
If you want energy, this one new habit would make a big difference. For example, kale is great in a smoothie or stir fried. The humble stinging nettle which can be gathered from gardens is considered a w**d, but very nutritious stir-fried or in a smoothie...also makes a great tea.
All spinaches are better with light steaming because of oxalic acid content, but full of nutrients. Go easy on fruits because of sugar, but citrus and berries are full of Vitamin C and anti-oxidants if eaten raw.

Just trying to visualize what I want to say. Our son is serving with the Army and we send him boxes frequently to keep his health up in an area where fresh food is not available or of good quality. As much as we would love him to have access to our garden, or create his own as this Kindy did, quality supplements do float his boat. We have sent assorted Mannatech products, fibre for the gut, and prebiotics as well as low sugar protein bars and what young men regard as nutrition.
We found out that the other men there refer to his boxes that we send as "M**h labs for health"!!
What a compliment!

In Australia, we have been lucky to have had parks and outdoor places to blow out the cobwebs in. Most of us had not given attention to awesome nutrition, but now is the time to say "enough"! Perhaps focusing on our mind-space and cultivating a new set of "Whys" is the best starting place. I confess I need to!

So many of us feel we are going to ruin any good new food habits we have created in the past over this Christmas season.
1. We are the sum total of the many small changes that have stuck on a daily basis ... "atomic habits" ... there's a good book by that name! The exceptions are just that, good-sized, but don't let those departures become a new habit!
2. We can be more mindful of how we eat...not in the presence of distraction. That distraction could be eating while watching TV, reading or even in company. Deliberately enjoy what you are eating and focus on company, not grazing food.
When the new year arrives, seek to find yourself not built ridden, but in a mindset of enriched intentions!

I feel sheepish to write anything since I really have neglected this site!
Anyway, it is tempting to view change of season as an incentive to get in shape and look better in Summer clothes! That may be OK in the short term, but changing how we do things works best long term. Being open to adding on new and better ways of doing the same thing ... gathering the best quality and high variety unprocessed foods and having lots of raw plant foods for the summer. I will actually add to these thoughts in small chunks from now on.

Life has settled into a new phase and I do apologize for being silent for so long!
I have discovered that losing weight is not a focus for itself, it is a by-product of other good decisions. Soon I will read the book, Atomic Habits which reveals the power of the small things done constantly, daily that have the biggest impact over time. For instance, finding alternatives to sugar and learning to like things less sweet...or introducing more greens in a daily smoothie...or making starches a side dish and above ground vegetables your main meal. All these are atomic habits.
Getting up earlier for meditation and exercise, and then going to bed earlier. Boom...a new atomic habit!
Do those things that make you feel good in your mind and body and slowly you get smaller. If you are onto this priority, then using TruHealth will give you the advantage, but be sure to make the changes that can become permanent.

Time for confession.
After over a month of compromise, following over 6 months of conscientious eating and exercise, I found my body rapidly began storing fat!
Now it is time to get back on track and NOT quit embracing all that is good for a healthy life which sheds fat. I will take on a new starting point with the TruHealth fat loss system, and have registered on the TruHealth site.

What is your "Activity Quotient"? I don't even know if there is such a thing, but it would be an indicator of how much you move and how often, Even standing to do a job or read is effective.
If you combine activity with a diet that is highly nutritious yet low in high GI carbs, you will see a steady rise in fitness and decline in waist size.

One large organ that is responsible for so many vital functions in your body. It removes toxins, enables digestion, and regulates metabolism. For more see what Wikipedia says:

When people store a lot of fat, they can get Fatty Liver Disease, and this really compromises the work the liver can do!
