We’re proud to share that Utopia Care has won its second National Enablement Award for ‘The Most Outstanding Provider of Personalised Support’.

The award was collected by our very own Managing Director, Tony Smith, who attended the event with his lovely wife Jane. Tony shared a few words on behalf of the entire team::

“Honestly, this award isn’t just for me, it belongs to every single person who’s part of Utopia Care, from the hardworking office team to our incredible frontline staff out in the community every day. It’s a reminder that what we’re doing matters. We’re here to support people living with a disability to live as independently as possible, and awards like this just confirm we’re on the right track.”

A huge thank you to our entire team and the individuals and families who trust us every day, this one’s for you.

We want to give a huge shoutout to one of our incredible support workers who truly goes above and beyond every day!

Amanda's always finding new activities for her participants to enjoy in the community, often stepping in to take extra shifts at short notice, no questions asked. On top of that, she brings joy to everyone around her with her home-baked treats, both for Utopia Care and the people she supports.

Her initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skills make her an invaluable part of the Utopia Care team. Thank you for your dedication and heart - you make a real difference!

This week, we join the national celebration of Refugee Week—a time to recognise the courage, resilience, and contributions of refugees in Australia.

At Utopia Care®, we’re proud to say that some of our amazing team members have refugee backgrounds. Their lived experiences, compassion, and commitment deeply enrich the support we provide every day to people with disabilities. Their stories are powerful reminders of the strength that diversity brings to our community and our workforce.

Refugee Week began as a small local event in the 1980s and has grown into a global celebration of unity and humanity. Let’s continue to build a society where everyone feels safe, supported, and empowered to thrive.

What is reconciliation?

Reconciliation is a vital journey that strengthens relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. It’s about healing, understanding, and unity. At Utopia Care, we honour and include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, reflecting our commitment to respect and relationships.

This year, we’re proud to support the Vinnies CEO Sleepout — a powerful initiative raising awareness and vital funds for Australians experiencing homelessness.

On 19 June, our CEO, Nathan Smith, will take part by sleeping outside with just a sleeping bag and cardboard, to gain a small glimpse into what so many go through every night.

Through our work in the disability sector, we’ve seen first-hand how homelessness is often linked with other vulnerabilities. In fact, 1 in 4 people experiencing homelessness in Australia live with a disability — a confronting statistic that highlights the need for greater support and systemic change.

By participating in this event, we hope to help shine a light on the issue and raise funds that will directly support those doing it toughest. If you’re in a position to donate, we’ve included the link below — every contribution, big or small, can make a difference.
