Some very informative info about Fascia 🍃
This is primarily what we’re working on in a Bowen treatment.. An incredible part of our bodies!

Constricted fascia can negatively impact the lymphatic system, circulatory system, musculoskeletal system and nervous system. Once fascia is released, these systems can function and flow much more efficiently! 🍃

Baby Bowen 🍃

Yetsterday I gave beautiful baby Anna a Bowen treatment.. We are working with 2 treatments per week to calm the stress response in her nervous system after the trauma of major lung surgery - taking her body out of fight and flight, and into a parasympathetic state of rest and repair.. Also to help her breathing and digestion as they are both ongoing issues..

Working together with a nutritionist and Doctors, she has recently been able to halve the amount of oxygen she needs, she's started to put on weight again, and her mum said she's started happy babbling again.. 🤗

3 big wins but still a way to go.. We will be persistent and journey with baby Anna believing for further wins, repair, and growth week by week… month by month 🙏

Research has determined that fascia tissues have 6x to 8x more proprioceptive sensory nerve endings than red muscle (Schleip 2017).

This makes the fascia system arguably the body’s largest sensory organ.

Bowen Therapy beautifully targets nervous system primarily through the Fascia returning the body to a ‘Parasympathetic Repair state’.

Had the most wonderful 3 day workshop learning ‘Applied Myoskeletal Therapy’ to add to what we offer here at Breathe.

We learnt some fantastic Pelvic and Lumbar assessment techniques, soft tissue release techniques and sequences, exercises to activate muscles that arent firing properly and so much more..

Thankyou Sean for such an informative course.
It truly was invaluable 🙏
