Over the past few days, we have been supporting the emergency response at the Tooperang fire at the request of SA Ambulance Service, as a partner agency under South Australia’s State Emergency Management Plan arrangements.

Our team is on the ground providing health and medical support to emergency responders working in demanding and constantly changing conditions. Our focus is on helping crews stay well, safe, and operational so they can continue their critical work on the frontline.

This support includes responder health checks, medical care, hydration and fatigue management, and practical health advice to help reduce the risks associated with heat, dehydration, and exhaustion during prolonged operations.

We are proud to support those protecting our community during bushfire and emergency responses, and we will continue to provide assistance where it is needed.

Christmas closure update 🎄🎅⏰

Our St John SA office will close at 1pm on Friday 19 December 2025 and reopen on Monday 5 January 2026.

Our warehouse retail counter’s last day open to the public will be Thursday 18 December 2025, reopening on Monday 5 January 2026.

You can still place orders via our website over the Christmas and New Year period. Orders will be processed and dispatched from early January 2026.

Many of our team will still be out in the community providing first aid and support at events, so if you see them, please say hello and thank them for their work.

Day 1 of the Ashes is getting underway at Adelaide Oval and it is shaping up to be a hot and sunny few days!🏏☀️

St John Health & Medical Services is proud to be supporting the Adelaide Test, with our experienced team of paramedics, nurses, and ambulance officers onsite throughout the Test to support spectators.

If you are heading to the Oval today or across the next few days, please take care in the heat. Drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen and a hat, and seek shade where possible. Keep an eye on your mates and if anyone needs medical attention, St John is here to help.

Today on International Volunteer Day we say a huge thank you to every St John SA volunteer.

This year’s theme, Every Contribution Matters, could not be more fitting. In 2024/25, 951 volunteers gave more than 90,000 hours of service, valued at over $3.6 million to the South Australian community.

From providing first aid at community events and Carols by Candlelight, to supporting community care, youth programs and training, you help people feel safe, supported and connected every day.

We also acknowledge and thank our many volunteers in administration, logistics, planning and leadership roles whose quiet work behind the scenes makes this impact possible.
