having practiced yoga since I was 18 - 25 years ago!) I decided to dive in and became a fully qualified yoga instructor in 2024!!

Cool Sun Halo at the moment 💛☀️

Quick google search and found this

A sun halo is caused by sunlight passing through ice crystals, which splits the light and creates a halo when viewed at the right angle. The same clouds can also cause a halo around the moon at night. Weather folklore says that a halo around the sun or moon means rain will fall soon

Native Americans
A sun halo, also known as a whirling rainbow, is a sign of change. An ancient prophecy says that people will come together in love to heal the Earth and bring peace.

Christianity
A halo is a symbol of God's grace or Uncreated Light shining through an icon. A sun ring is a symbol of hope because the sun represents Jesus' resurrection.

Greeks
A sundog, or bright lights in the sky, was considered a sign of good luck. The Greeks believed that the lights were Zeus' dogs walking across the sky☀️🌿

D is for DIAPHRAGMATIC BREATHING!

Why is diaphragmatic (or belly breathing) so good for your lymphatics?

There is a small sac in your abdomen called the Cisterna Chylii. Its role is to collect lymphatic fluid from your abdomen and legs and shunt it upwards to be recycled by the heart.

When we diaphragmatic breath (how we are MEANT to breath ALL the time!) the diaphragm compresses the cisterna chylii. As we breath out the pressure is released, causing it to empty.

With the stresses of daily life we often "CHEST" breath, which doesn't fully use the diaphragm, and is quite a shallow way to breathe.

I LOVE how our body is actually designed to shift lower body fluid by breathing PROPERLY!

Tips for practicing belly breathing.

💧 Place the hands on the tummy and focus on breathing "into"your hands. Alternatively, some people prefer to place the hands over the ribs and feel for the rib "flare" as you breath in/out.
💧 Waiting at the traffic lights? Use this time to belly breath!
