REACH FOR THE STARS

Our weekly RFTS sessions involve various arts and craft activities to keep you occupied, while developing important fine motor skills and engaging in conversations with people of similar interests. Form connections, develop creativity and express yourself through your art of choice. The relaxation and calming element to these sessions makes it unique and an individualized experience. We are looking for more involvement with our current RFTS model.

MAGNIFICENT MAY

The month of May provided some special moments at Empowering Futures! The weather is getting colder, but that didn't stop us from getting out and about. We bowled strikes, played cricket, cooked food, attempted makeup, and learnt our timetables.

Through our various day options and groups, stay connected with us all week every week. Develop important life skills, build capacity and make friendships.

INCLUSIVE HOLIDAY PROGRAM

With just over a month to go, it is time to start planning how you will spend your holidays!

Our Inclusive Holiday Program, which runs termly throughout the year, supports North and South, with separate schedules for each. Activities are budget friendly and flexible to fit individual needs and preferences, with participant input on activities welcome. Try new things in a safe and supportive environment, and build confidence, skills and capacity. North and south hubs are available to be used at all times, inclusive of sensory room, basketball court, games area and more.

SIL VACANCY

We have a vacancy in our Salisbury East SIL house that is available. The property is in close proximity to bus stops and main roads, and has a bedroom available. It would be with 1:3 supports.

The current occupants are both female and would prefer a female to join them. They are low risk, high functioning girls who are both employed and look after themselves and the house. They are happy to meet and greet any prospective participants applying for the vacancy.

APRIL

Although our termly Inclusive Holiday Program took up a majority of the month's focus, there was still plenty of fun and smiles around in the month of April. Our Mates Day options, cooking and sports groups, and Saturday out and abouts were full of fun activities with our friends.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

May's Indoor Camp is entirely Star Wars themed! Come dressed as your favourite Star Wars character and participate in various themed activities, and enjoy respite done differently under our care.

Highlights from our termly Inclusive Holiday Program!

IHP is a great opportunity to make friendships and build rapport with our 2-week block of daily activities. From tree climbing to bowling, there was a variety of things to do to spend time with people you feel safe and happy around.

It's NOT too late to sign up if you haven't already. If this interests you, please come out Wednesday nights to Kilburn Sports and Community Club and give it a try!

- NO tackling. Only tagging.
- NO age or gender requirements. Anyone is welcome.
- SKILL BUILDING exercises included, followed by MODIFIED games.

With activities ranging from bowling, to the movies, to road trips to Kapunda, there is lots of opportunities to try new things and make connections with people of similar age, while developing skills and building rapport with our support team.
