Look who dropped by the office this week! 👶💛

Our wonderful AT OT Caitlin is currently on maternity leave, but she and her beautiful baby paid us a visit this week — and safe to say the whole Williams OT family was smitten.

And look at Brad who's is already embracing his role as the proud office uncle! 🥹🍼

We’re so thrilled for Caitlin and can’t wait to have her back when the time is right. For now, we’re soaking up all the baby smiles and happy visits like this one. 💛

Last week, we said goodbye to our incredible receptionist, Anna. Not because of anything she did — she was everything a team could hope for — but because years of NDIS price freezes and a 50% cut to travel reimbursements have left us with impossible choices.

The price freeze has remained unchanged since 2019, while business costs — wages, insurance, rent, fuel — continue to rise. Like many small providers, we’ve done our best to protect our team and shield our clients from the strain. But this time, we couldn’t.

These aren’t just numbers. They’re decisions that impact real people, real jobs, and the quality of care we can deliver.

This gift basket was a small token of our deep appreciation for Anna — whose warmth, reliability, and heart made a lasting impact on our team and our clients.

Even in that loss, our team reminded us why we keep going.

Our admin and therapy teams stepped up with heart and determination — taking on extra responsibilities, supporting each other, and staying focused on what matters most: our clients. Their passion for helping people build independence and mobility hasn’t wavered.

They’ve truly lived out our values: Drive, Respect, Great Communication, a Can-Do Attitude, and Nurturing. Everyone showed up — for each other and for the people we support.

We’re proud of them. We’re proud of this work. And we’re committed to continuing — even when the system makes it harder.

To Anna: thank you.
To our team: you’re incredible.
To every provider feeling this pressure: you’re not alone.
To our community: we’re still here — and we’ll keep showing up and speaking up.

🚨 Driver training is changing in South Australia!
Big reforms are coming in 2027—but the impact has already started.

For teens with autism or anxiety, early prep is essential.
Getting assessments done and funding approved can take time—so don’t leave it too late.

These changes are meant to improve safety—but not every learner fits the same mould. That’s where tailored supports like ours matter.

We LOVE delivery day! 🙌

Last week, our AT OTs supported a client through the handover of his brand-new Abiloader—a robotic arm that lifts and delivers his wheelchair right to the driver’s seat.

Thanks to the team at C Goodall Engineering, the system was customised to fit his vehicle perfectly—and the result? A smooth setup and one very happy driver.

This equipment opens the door to greater mobility, access, and independence. What an awesome outcome! 👏

Our client was struggling to reach the park brake and ignition due to arthritis and shorter stature. So, our workshop team installed a push-start and power park brake—making driving safer, easier, and way more comfortable.

Bonus: it even feels a bit like a race car cockpit 🏁

Supporting a young person to learn to drive through the NDIS? An OT driving assessment might be the first step—but we get it, it can feel a little confronting.

These assessments aren’t about what’s “wrong”—they’re about identifying where support is needed to build safe, confident driving skills.

🔍 You might hear terms like “executive function” or “working memory.” These are just tools we use to tailor driving plans and secure funding for specialised driving instruction.

You’ve got this—and we’re here to guide you through every stage of the journey.

Rough terrain? No worries. 🛞💪

Our Assistive Technology OTs supported a client looking for a powered wheelchair that could handle uneven farm ground and be practical indoors.

We trialled the Amylior Alltrack—and it didn’t disappoint. With a robust base, independent suspension, and off-road tyres, it handled steep inclines and bumpy terrain with ease, while offering a smooth, low-vibration ride. The mid-wheel drive and tight turning circle also make it great for indoor spaces.

Our client was thrilled with the trial—and once fitted with a customised seating solution, we’re confident it’ll be a fantastic match for his unique needs.

Sensory overload can hit hard when learning to drive. 🚨From car washes to alarms, sirens, and traffic chaos—driving can be overwhelming.

In this video, Brad unpacks how strategic-level thinking helps prepare drivers for these moments—because safe, confident driving is about more than just steering and braking. It’s about planning ahead, building independence, and knowing how to manage overload before it happens.
