Class update: we are moving towards online classes. Please be patient with yoga studios and teachers as we navigate new (ish) territory.
I’ll have an update with online class details within a week or so.
If you are a student of mine, please remember that everything we have been working on in our sessions, you can do at home. My intention as a teacher/facilitator is to empower you, educate you and give you the skills to practice anywhere, anytime. Sometimes it’s easy to take our knowledge and experience for granted. Trust that you know more than you might think.
The key to a home practice is our ability to hold space for ourselves, stay present to each breath and remain curious as to how things feel. Also, keep it simple! If you’re new to practicing at home, don’t make it overwhelmingly complex. It’s ok to be intuitive and creative. You are ultimately your own teacher, listen to what you and your bodymind needs.
If you can, create a space in your house or bedroom that you feel good in. Light a candle or burn some oils/incense. Bring in some nature: a sprig of rosemary or an indoor plant, for example. Music can also be really useful. I’m going to share some of my playlists in my story posts.
Yesterday I had one of my favourite home practices to date listening to with the windows open.
If having a break from yoga classes is how it plays out, know that that is totally ok. Yoga is so much more than movements on a mat. Bring your ability to stay centred and present with you, as best you can, into each arising situation.
All my love to you and I look forward to connecting with you online some more, if that’s an avenue you choose to explore.
Sending love to all my teaching friends and colleagues. If there is anything I can do to support you, please get in touch.
