💛 PCOS has officially been renamed PMOS.

Published in The Lancet today, the new name — Poly endocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) — reflects a broader understanding of this condition and has been welcomed by many clinicians and researchers worldwide.

Why does this matter?

Because this condition is about much more than “polycystic ovaries.” It can affect: ✨ hormones
✨ metabolism
✨ fertility
✨ skin and hair
✨ mental wellbeing

The updated name aims to better reflect the complex, multisystem nature of the condition, improve awareness, and reduce misunderstanding around diagnosis and care.

A significant step forward in women’s health conversations and holistic care. ✨

💗 Mother’s Day means something different for everyone.
Today, I feel grateful to complete the Mother’s Day Classic — a beautiful reminder of the importance of community, movement, women supporting women, and raising awareness for breast cancer screening and research.
As a women’s health doctor, I am constantly reminded how important early detection, awareness, and looking after ourselves can be.
Today I’m also thinking of: ✨ mothers
✨ women hoping to become mothers
✨ those grieving or missing loved ones
✨ single parents and caregivers
✨ families navigating difficult journeys
✨ and every person who may find today joyful, complicated, or emotional
Be gentle with yourself today.
Take care of your health.
And if you are due for your breast screening, this is your gentle reminder 💗
One step at a time.

Behind every operation is careful planning, teamwork, attention to detail, and preparation.
From conversations and investigations to surgical safety checks and collaboration behind the scenes — every step matters.
Because good care is not just about the procedure itself.
It’s about supporting the whole journey.
