A BIG thank you to CanDance for a Cure and their unbelievable efforts this year with the amount they raised at their fourteenth annual South Australian event.

We want to say a special thank you to Rachel, Ki & Millie, plus of course all of the participants and their supporters.

These funds will help contribute to the forever important life-saving cancer research at the University of Adelaide.

Again we thank you and look forward to celebrating 15 years in 2025! 🩷

Since 1998, $44 million has been donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation to fund vital breast cancer research.

Thanks to research, the relative five-year survival rate for breast cancer has increased from 84 per cent to 92 per cent over this period. However, there’s still more to be done to achieve the goal of zero deaths from breast cancer.

Help us keep fighting against breast cancer by donating to the link below or signing up to participate in this year’s Mother’s Day Classic 🩷

Team DRMCRL are taking part in the Mother’s Day Classic to help raise funds and awareness to fight breast and ovarian cancers. We're going to put our foot down on Sunday May 12. Please join us, or donate now and show all women that you’re running, walking and standing with them.

FiDo (First-In-Dog) Cure Cancer Initiative is a unique cross-disciplinary collaboration at the The University of Adelaide to establish companion dogs as a valuable model for better understanding breast cancer. Companion dogs with spontaneously occurring breast cancer will be recruited by engaging with veterinarians, canine patients and their owners to undertake a pilot study investigating androgen agonist and/or estrogen antagonist therapy as an effective breast cancer treatment for dogs, providing valuable preclinical data leading to human clinical trials.

This International Women’s Day we are championing the unique skills and knowledge of women in science by chatting to Cancer Council Beat Cancer Project funded researcher, Associate Professor Theresa Hickey from The University of Adelaide about her research investigating a new treatment to prevent breast cancer from spreading 🔬

Survival rates for people with breast cancer have increased significantly, however there is still no effective treatment for metastatic breast cancer.

“Cancer Council’s Beat Cancer Project will help us test a new form of hormone-based therapy that may prevent breast cancer cells from leaving the breast to seed and grow in vital organs like the brain and liver.” – A/Prof Hickey.
