This is on an extensive background as the doctor for the SANFL Eagles, SA state U18 and U16 teams, boxing, martial arts, and A league soccer, along with several international tours including the World Cup T20 for Hong Kong, Matildas, Kookaburras and Young Socceroos. Recently completing his final requirement for specialist qualification in the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians (FACSEP), this marks only the 5th doctor in South Australia with this qualification. In addition to 2 prior degrees, a medical degree, and a fellowship in General Practice (FRACGP), Dr Walker continues to have a special interest in both using exercise prescription as a preventative approach to many of the current epidemics such as osteoarthritis and diabetes, as well as use in the management of acute injuries. Certified in both diagnostic and interventional ultrasound also allows more accurate diagnosis of pathology and guide appropriate interventions, often at the same time of your initial appointment. Competency in injectables, including platelet rich plasma (PRP), hyaluronic gels, hydrodisection, and cellular therapy (stem cells) is an ongoing area of interest, as is non-surgical management of musculoskeletal problems such as osteoarthritis, tendon strains and shoulder problems.
