Meet Zenita 👋

Zenita has been part of the TerryWhite Chemmart West Beach team for 8 years and is a familiar, friendly face to many locals. She believes getting along with teammates is key to making work enjoyable and stress-free…and it’s clear how much her team loves her. 🫣

Helping customers is what she enjoys most, especially supporting elderly locals who visit regularly and have been part of the community for even longer than she’s worked here. She’s also the organiser of the store, taking care of planograms (which she genuinely enjoys), but customer service will always be her favourite part of the day.

A calm presence, a caring approach, and a big part of what makes West Beach feel like a community pharmacy.

Iron’s role in energy is more mechanical than people expect 🚶‍♀️

It’s a key part of haemoglobin, the molecule that carries oxygen through the bloodstream to working muscles and organs. When iron levels are low, that delivery system becomes less efficient, so even with enough sleep and a reasonable diet the body may still feel underpowered.

That’s why low iron can show up as fatigue, reduced stamina, or feeling short of breath with everyday activity.

It’s not about stimulation or “boosting” energy it’s about whether oxygen is getting to where it needs to go.

If you refill the same bottle all week (we all do it!), here’s a reminder: moisture + warmth = the perfect environment for bacteria and mould to grow - even if it *looks* clean.

Give your bottle a daily wash with hot, soapy water, and don’t forget the lid, straw or rubber seal - they collect the most germs. A deeper clean once a week keeps things fresh, safe and tasting better.

Summer can sneak up on your sleep… even if you don’t feel “too hot.” 🌡️

When the seasons shift, so should your bedding and sleep setup 😴

Our bodies naturally lower their core temperature at night to trigger sleep. If your room is too warm, the cooling process struggles, leading to restlessness, lighter sleep and more wake-ups, especially during REM.

Research suggests the ideal sleep environment sits around 18–20°C. A few simple adjustments can help support that:

- Swap heavy quilts for lighter, breathable fabrics like cotton or linen
- Keep blinds or curtains closed during the day to reduce heat build-up
- Use fans or airflow rather than blasting icy aircon overnight
- Avoid thick socks or layered pyjamas - your feet help release heat
- Stay hydrated, but slow down water intake 1–2 hours before bed

What he loves most about pharmacy? The genuine patient interactions, especially with the regulars who really make it a community.
