Hey everyone,
Hope your day has been a good one 😊
So, I thought I should tell everyone a bit about myself so you can get to know me a little.
My name is Jordan and I’m a single parent to my beautiful son Hunter. Hunter is 14 and turns 15 this Friday, and I couldn’t be prouder of him and the young man he is becoming. I live with Hunter and my dog Cooper who is a Kelpie.
In my spare time I love to go the footy and watch Port Adelaide play- Go The Power. I also love to spend time with Hunter, my dog Cooper, my friends, going to the beach and doing water activities, gym, camping, travelling and live music. Concerts and travelling with my son Hunter are a huge passion of mine. In my travels I’d have to say the best thing I have done was snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef up in Cairns, it was spectacular. When it comes to music my favourite band is Matchbox Twenty. I love all sorts of music though especially some off the old stuff like Creedence Clearwater Revival, Johnny Cash, Elvis and Roy Orbison.
The start of my career began in 2014 when I studied my Certificate 3 in Disability at The South Australian Learning Centre at Minda.
My friend Jessie Anne was studying a dual Certificate of Disability and Aged Care and said how good I would be at it, so I enrolled myself and gave it a try and found to love it. I have always grown up knowing about Minda and people with disabilities as my dad has worked at Minda for 25years now and my childhood friend Samantha’s dad also worked there for around 36years.
That’s how I became to be a disability support worker and I am fortunate enough to still be doing it till this day, doing what I love and helping the clients live their best lives.
The thing I love most about my job is seeing the clients happy. I’m there for the clients and what’s best for them. I do my best to help the clients I support and work with in every situation to reach their needs, goals and potential. To me I believe being a good carer is caring from the heart and treating your clients like you would someone in your own family and how you would like them to be cared for.
Take Care
Jordan
