Do you know how much protein is in your milk?

Both full cream and reduced-fat (light) cow’s milk contain around 8-9g of protein per 250ml (1 cup). In comparison, most plant-based milks, such as almond and oat, provide significantly less, generally around 1g of protein per cup.

If you prefer a plant-based option with more protein, soy milk is a better alternative as it contains about 8g of protein per cup, just like cow’s milk.

You can also choose from some great protein-fortified options:

🥛 The Complete Protein Milk – 15g protein per cup
🥛 So Good High Protein Almond or Oat – 10g protein per cup

The benefits of strength training include improved strength and endurance, enhanced metabolism, improved coordination, reduced risk of chronic diseases, pain management, injury prevention and overall increased quality of life, particularly as we get older.

Strength training can come from many different options, including but not limited to weight training, swimming/hydrotherapy, Pilates, yoga, resistance bands, circuits and more.

The most important thing is to choose something that you will enjoy and continue to do!

Sarcopenia is a progressive muscle condition that involves the accelerated loss of muscle mass and function, and is commonly associated with ageing.

Loss of muscle mass can make everyday activities such as walking or standing can become more difficult.

The rate of muscle loss can depend on several factors, such as:

- Type and amount of physical activity
- Adequate nutrition, especially protein
- Age
- Weight
- Other chronic health conditions
