Today, Resthaven proudly marked a major milestone with a ‘turn the turf’ ceremony at Resthaven Marion — signalling the start of our $100M site redevelopment. 🙌

The rain didn't stop the celebration, with the ‘first sod’ turned by Resthaven Board President, Mark Porter, accompanied by Resthaven Marion Managers, Grant Edwards (Community), and Leanne Spencer (Residential). 🌱

The first stage includes construction of the Resthaven Marion Community Wellness Centre — a vibrant, sustainable hub designed to support older people to live well, stay independent and achieve their personal goals.

Resthaven Aberfoyle Park recently hosted its very own Dog Talent Show — and it was a tail-wagging success! 🐕

Staff brought in their clever (and cheeky!) pups to strut their stuff to the audience, while six residents took on the important job of judging. 🏆 With cheering from the crowd and plenty of laughs, the 'paws-itively' entertaining event was full of fun!

Mrs Florence (Flo) Kirkham has recently rejoined the Resthaven Murray Bridge community—not as a volunteer this time, but as a resident. 💜

With two decades of selfless volunteering under her belt, Flo gave her time supporting residents and staff with bingo, craft, music, and more. Now, she's come full circle as one of the home's newest residents. 🥰 Welcome back, Flo!

If you are visiting Resthaven Bellevue Heights, be sure to take a look at the public artwork created by Gerry McMahon — a finishing touch of the recent $36m site redevelopment. 😊

Titled 'Push Me Higher', Gerry says that the sculpture 'reflects the leafy green backdrop and home to native wildlife and embraces the connection between generations.' 💗

'One may imagine the young girl saying, "push me higher!" as her grandmother pushes her on the swing. Above them both are a couple of kookaburras and a koala, perched high in the tree looking on in bemusement.' 🐨

Resthaven Marion recently welcomed Bec from the Animal Welfare League (AWL) — along with the adorable Nala, one of their resident dogs — for a very special 'Doggy Day Out' visit. 🐶

Over the past year, the talented knitting group has lovingly created around 20 handmade blankets for animals in need. And the generosity didn’t stop there — the site community came together to donate pet food, toys and more, filling two large baskets with goodies for the AWL! 🐾🧺
