1 in 9 Australians with a uterus live with endometriosis. That's over 1 million people.
And yet, the average diagnosis still takes 6.5 years. Six and a half years of pain being dismissed, minimised, or misunderstood.

Endometriosis is a whole-body disease. Tissue similar to the uterine lining grows in places it shouldn't, causing chronic pain, fatigue, and in some cases, infertility. It shows up differently in every person. There is no cure.

If something feels wrong, trust that. Book an appointment with your GP and start the conversation.

I wrote a poem about what it’s like sometimes being a doctor.

5 March 2026, 1.05PM

I love working in medicine
Treating people with art, science and reason

But sometimes helping people can be difficult
You try your best but don’t get the result
And everybody is so very different
Yet everybody expects the same:
The perfect outcome for every treatment

And when it’s not perfect some do complain
It is their right, but it sure wrecks your brain
At work you place others first every minute (and sometimes even once they’re out of sight)
And one unhappy person can lose you sleep overnight

You’ll learn some things are beyond your control
Though you wish they weren’t because it sure takes a toll
You’ll find some perceptions of you can be cold
Sometimes you’ll feel like you just want to fold

But ultimately I know who I am
I genuinely care and try as hard as I can
I use what I learn, always seeking information
Anything to make me a better clinician

Working in medicine can be tough
There is so much at stake
Disappointing even one person can lead to heartbreak
It really tests how much stress a human can take

Working in medicine can be rough
But when the day ends
Lying down feeling spent
I think about all the good that’s been done
And that’s enough

🌍 On international HPV Awareness Day, we come together to raise awareness about the human papillomavirus (HPV), one of the most common viral infections worldwide. HPV affects millions of people each year and can lead to several types of cancer. HPV is preventable and in most cases, treatable when detected early.

💉 Vaccination, regular screenings, and open conversations with healthcare professionals are powerful tools in preventing HPV-related disease.

Today is a call to act: strengthen awareness, support immunisation programmes, and prioritise routine check-ups to lessen the long-term burden and protect future generations.

Knowledge empowers. Prevention protects.

Soon I will be a father to two boys. I feel so blessed and grateful for this life. I am so lucky to have such a supportive partner and family and such wonderful colleagues and patients. I don’t take it for granted. I am so privileged.

I hope dad is smiling up above ☝️❤️

Just finished one of my favourite kinds of working days. Started the day out at Burnside Day Surgery doing a few interesting skin cancer excisions. Coffee and a snack for lunch, then literally walked across the road to Skin Matters for my afternoon session which started off with some small skin cancer excisions, skin checks, and consultations. Very good and rewarding work with great people at both sites! 💪

This was a 2-3mm BCC I detected on a patient’s nose. Some practitioners may choose to use a graft or a flap to repair the defect after excising this skin cancer. Some may even choose to go down the route of Moh’s Micrographic Surgery.

I used a small punch biopsy, excised the lesion and repaired the small defect with one suture. The procedure was quick and uncomplicated. Suture out after 5 days. Histopathology reported clear margins.

Detected early —> simple and quick fix —> very rewarding 💪

Skin checks and treatment:

- Kings Park Clinic

Scribbled down some thoughts into my notepad.

I think it will be helpful to those of you who are considering getting a vasectomy.

It may also be helpful to those of you who have had a vasectomy already, to understand why it may have costed how much it did.

I believe in transparency 👍
