This State Election, Carers SA is calling on current MPs and election candidates to prioritise Carers across South Australia with a commitment to our four key election asks:

โœ… Establish an annual Carer Recognition Grant Scheme
โœ… Establish a Carer Hardship Relief Grant
โœ… Establish a dedicated South Australian Carer Card
โœ… Establish a Service Navigation Program for Carers in South Australia.

Carers play an essential role in our community, yet too often they go unrecognised, under supported and financially stretched.
South Australian unpaid Carers need greater awareness of their contribution, stronger recognition, improved support, and real relief from the growing financial hardship faced by many Carers.

Take Time to Care. Make Carers Count this election.

HEAT WAVE ALERT
With the incoming heat wave don't forget to check in with isolated or venerable family and friends and encourage them to register for the Australian Red Cross TeleRedi service.

During the hot weather, please remember to check-in with vulnerable or isolated loved ones and encourage them to register for the Australian Red Cross TeleRedi service.

We activate the service during a declared , which sees registered people called daily to ensure theyโ€™re coping with the extreme weather. If a call goes unanswered or if someone is in distress, an emergency procedure is activated to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

TeleRedi supports people who may be more vulnerable during extreme heat, including those who live alone, older people, people with disability, mental illness, recovering from illness or injury, and people with ongoing health conditions.

Takes about 20 minutes
Fully confidential
Open to all LGBTQ+ family structures
Go in the draw to win one of 5 x $100 vouchers.
Your voice matters. Speak up, be counted and help create change.
