We're in Australia... So sunscreen is NOT optional. Not even in winter. โ๏ธ
We know, we know; it's cold, the sun feels far away, it doesn't feel necessary. But UV doesn't take a season off, and your skin is paying for it whether you can feel it or not.
There's a reason this photo of a truck driver keeps doing the rounds in dermatology circles. One side of his face spent decades being hit by sun through the window, no protection, and the difference compared to the other side is WILD.
We've seen the same thing in clinic with one of our own clients. More ageing on the right side of her face; her driver's side here in Australia, purely from photo damage over time.
And then there's the twins study. Same genetics, same life; except one wore sunscreen religiously and one didn't. The result? An 11 year visible age difference. Eleven years.
So please; SPF every single day, hat when you're out, sunnies on (yes, UV can increase your risk of cataracts too).
Your future skin will be very, very grateful. ๐ค
