Acupuncture, Night Sweats and Menopause

Acupuncture has been shown to reduce hot flushes and night sweats in menopausal women by around 36% with benefits sustaining for up to six months after treatment.

Researchers at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Centre say that significant benefits are measurable after eight sessions. They tested 209 menopausal women, aged between 45 and 60, each of whom were going through menopause and were subject to an average of four hot flushes or sweating episodes per night.

The mucosa of the tongue is thin and transparent with a rich supply of blood; any changes observed in the tongue are indicative of internal changes.
