Our great city of Adelaide is hosting the Australasian HIV and AIDS conference and the Australasian Sexual and Reproductive health conference from Monday 15th to Thursday 18th of September.
During this time ASHC will be a Walk-in only service due to staffing. We will only be able to see a small number of people. If you have any symptoms or need to be seen urgently, please call the clinic. The nurses will be able to discuss about your concerns.

Mpox is a viral infection that mainly spreads through skin-to-skin contact (including during s*x).

Several cases of mpox have recently been reported in South Australia, so it’s important to be on the lookout for symptoms, and to get your vaccine if eligible.

Symptoms of mpox can include a distinctive rash anywhere on the body (it can look like small pimples or sores), fever, muscle aches and swelling of the lymph nodes, or re**al pain.

The mpox vaccine protects against infection and severe disease and is recommended for:
🟣 all s*xually active gay, bis*xual or other men who have s*x with men (including cis and trans men)
🟣 s*xual partners of the people above, and
🟣 s*x workers.

Two doses of mpox vaccine are needed for maximum protection.

The best time to get your vaccine is before exposure, but it can also help to prevent more severe symptoms after you’ve been exposed. If you’re travelling overseas or interstate, get your vaccine before departing.

Located at 275 North tce, Adelaide Sexual Health Centre (formerly Clinic 275) provides a free and confidential specialist s*xual health service for South Australia. This includes medical consultations and advice, testing and treatment for all s*xually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV, on-site laboratory testing, partner notification and support, and much more.

Adelaide Sexual Health Centre can be very busy, managing over 17,000 attendances per year. Because of this we prioritise who we see, for more information on these priority groups see below.

Priority groups of clients We deliver specialist s*xual health services especially to those from these priority groups: • men who have s*x with men • people who identify as Trans or Gender Diverse • s*x workers, clients of s*x workers, and anyone who trades s*x for money, goods or services • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people • people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and migrants • young people (less than 25 years of age) • people with s*xual health related symptoms • people with a s*xual partner who has recently been diagnosed with a s*xually transmitted infection See http://bit.ly/2JmN4m4 for more information
