Your dogs can feel the heat, just like you can.

If the ground is too hot to touch – it’s too hot for your dog to walk on.

On very hot days, try and keep your dog inside or under shade.

If you do need to walk them, place your hand on the ground for five seconds to test the temperature, and only head out during the coolest parts of the day.

Make sure your pets have plenty of clean, fresh water to drink. Put out two large bowls of water each day, in case one runs out or is knocked over, and put both in the shade so they stay cooler for longer.
