Across our three ACHA hospitals - Ashford Hospital, Flinders Private Hospital and The Memorial Hospital - we are fortunate to be supported by a wonderful group of Chaplains. They are available to support patients and staff alike. We’re thrilled to turn the spotlight on Tracy, one of our dedicated Ward Clerks on Unley Ward, whose commitment to excellence extends far beyond the hospital walls.

Recently, Tracy showcased her incredible talents at The Royal Adelaide Show, where she was awarded 2nd Prize in one of the show’s prestigious competitions, "Sculptural (3D) Form, wet or dry felted".

Tracy’s recognition at the Show is a reflection of her dedication, skill, and vibrant spirit—qualities we see every day in her work on Unley Ward. Whether she’s supporting patients, assisting staff, or contributing to the smooth running of the ward, Tracy brings warmth, professionalism and smiles to everything she does.

We recently celebrated with highly respected Breast & Endocrine Surgeon Dr Michael Eaton, as he undertook his last regular list at Ashford Hospital before taking some holiday leave and transitioning to a well-deserved retirement.

Dr Eaton has had a long association with Ashford Hospital, almost 30 years, and has seen many changes and developments throughout his career. Our team enjoyed reminiscing whilst also recognising and thanking him for his considered expert approach.

We will miss you Dr Eaton and wish you every happiness in your retirement.

One of our favourite events on the yearly calendar, is to celebrate our staff who have reached milestones in their years of service.

And this week was no exception - 158 staff who collectively have given 2,140 years of service to our hospital. This is a testament to the culture and environment which our team create. We are incredibly proud of their achievements.

Of note this year we celebrated 4 staff who have reached 30 years of service, 3 at 35 years of service, and Carol who has been with us for 40 years in our Maternity Unit. Thank you and congratulations to our team.
