MEET ME AT THE BEACH… (FREE)

Do you have kids who are worried about what’s happening in our gulf?

Then I invite you to meet me at the the beach for an afternoon of:
🔍 Investigation
💬 Reflection
💞 Healing & Hope

Together, we’ll:
🧠 Talk about what’s happening in our gulf and why
👣 Examine what we can see along the shoreline, be a citizen scientist and help monitor and report the animals we find.
💭 Explore how we feel — and what we can do next

We’ll also have some resources available for adults about how to help children process their worrying thoughts.

Let’s connect, learn, and care for each other and our beautiful gulf in the aftermath of the algae bloom.

📅 Sun 13th July
🕓 11am
📍Meet at the beginning of the Largs bay jetty
Cost; Free but please register by sending a message to Bugsnslugs via Facebook

All ages welcome. Dress for the weather bring a camera, and an empty bag (for rubbish). Wear a hat and shoes that don’t mind getting damp.

PLEASE NOTE; Ive organised this because i keep meeting kids who are distressed about what’s happening in the gulf and they want to talk about it. I haven’t put an age recommendation on this because you know your kids but this won’t be for everyone. There are still quite a few dead fish, rays, sharks and other marine life on the beach. Please discuss this with your kids before you decide whether this is for you (and them). Feel free to message me if you have any questions. 😊

Join us at The Parks Theatre for a FREE screening of the documentary SEEN.
SEEN is a groundbreaking feature-length documentary that not only explores the transformative power of personal healing for parents but also delves into the scientifically supported effects of such healing on parenting and its impact on child brain development.

Parks Children’s Centre will be established as an ‘integrated hub’ in 2027. This means our centre will evolve to bring more programs and services together so our local community can access the support they need in one place.
As an integrated hub, the preschool offering will change from 15 hours per week to 30 hours per week. Preschool places for 3- and 4-year-old children will be considered through a priority of access process.
This is a big and exciting change, and we look forward to working with our local community to bring this to life.
For more information on integrated hubs and preschool for 3-year-olds, visit the Office for Early Childhood Development website.

The Office for Early Childhood Development is the early childhood system steward overseeing reforms to the system that will reduce the rate of developmental vulnerability for South Australia's youngest children.

IT’S TIME FOR SOME SERIOUS FUN!!! We’re having a FASHION PARADE and our locals are invited to be the models! All you have to do is FEEL BEAUTIFUL and ENJOY YOURSELF!

Just think ‘CHOOSE, STRUT, SNAP’!

1. CHOOSE 3 items of clothing donated by the Henley Op Shop (and put them on).
2. STRUT the catwalk.
3. have a SNAP taken by Darryl Poole Photography.

… then enjoy lunch together!

The whole event is free - and you get to keep the clothing and the photo (once processed). Please turn up at 11.30am NEXT MONDAY MAY 19th to choose your items of clothing. Lee from Heartbeat Drumming will set the vibe with the drumrolls!
