✅ HSU Members Have Spoken – A Clear Win for Allied Health!

Today’s General NTPS Agreement ballot result sends a powerful message: the workforce does not support the current offer. Allied Health professionals have stood together and said loud and clear – we deserve better.

This is not just about pay. It’s about respect, recognition, and the future of essential health services in the Territory. Members have campaigned tirelessly to highlight the real issues: attraction and retention challenges, rising costs of professional registration, non-competitive wages, and the urgent need to protect safe and continuous Allied Health services.

The result is a call to action. We are ready to work with OCPE to reach a fair and sustainable agreement quickly. Territorians deserve strong, well-supported health services – and that starts with valuing the people who deliver them.

Our campaign has always been about one thing: Respect Allied Health. Today’s result proves that message is stronger than ever.

📢 Next steps: We’ve requested an urgent meeting with OCPE to ensure your voices are heard at the highest level. Stay tuned for updates – and thank you to every member who stood up and voted for change.

If you support our campaign to Respect Allied Health, show your support by completing our letter to the Chief Minister here: https://win.newmode.net/healthservicesunionnational/ntrespectalliedhealth

Healthscope is restructuring – and it could cost you.

They’re setting up a new not-for-profit called PurposeCo, which should mean access to salary packaging benefits for workers.

But instead of passing those benefits on, Healthscope wants to keep 90% for itself – leaving just 10% for employees.

That’s not fair, and it’s not what this benefit was meant for.

They need your vote to make it happen.
🗳️ Vote NO to protect your entitlements.

It’s never easy to speak up and take a stand, but Allied Health has had enough. Well done to the Allied Health workers who raised their voices today and shone a light on the crisis unfolding in our health system – these are workers who only want the best outcomes for their patients.

It’s time Lia Finocchiaro MLA for you to step in and listen to those who are supporting all Territorians.

The Health Services Union is threatening further strike action, sighting a lack of recruitment and retention, no comparable incentives to interstate and private practice, and some of the worst pay in the country as reason to reject the governments offer of a 12.55% increase over the next four years.

Support Allied Health Professionals by writing to Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro and demanding a fair deal👉 https://hsusant.org.au/our-union/nt-public-sector-ea/

If this EA goes ahead, staff shortages will get worse, wait times will blow out, access to care will decline, and more workers will leave the NT for better pay elsewhere — hurting all Territorians.

🚨 HSU SA/NT says: VOTE NO 🚨

The NT Government’s 3% a year offer is an insult to Allied Health. While costs soar and interstate pay is up to 20% higher, this deal leaves you stuck at the bottom.

Here’s the truth:
💸 3% per year doesn’t match cost-of-living pressures
⚖️ Pay gap of up to 20% compared to interstate colleagues
⛔ No recognition of the essential work Allied Health delivers every day

HSU SA/NT is demanding more: 18.5% plus incentives to keep and attract the professionals the NT needs.

📅 From 12 September, vote NO and send the message loud and clear: Allied Health deserves better.

The government is making you an offer you can refuse.

A 3% pay rise per annum does not outweigh the loss of entitlements on the table.

🚨 NT Allied Health Workers Say Enough is Enough 🚨

The Northern Territory Government has put forward an abysmal 12.55% pay offer over four years – and HSU members have made it clear: that’s not good enough.

As reported in today’s The NT News, HSU SA/NT Secretary Billy Elrick warned that members are preparing to take protected industrial action – including strikes – if the NT Government fails to deliver a fair deal.

Allied health professionals are the backbone of the NT health system. Yet they continue to be underpaid compared to their interstate colleagues, with some other states offering up to 20% more plus relocation packages. If the NT Government doesn’t act, it risks losing even more skilled professionals.

👉 HSU is calling for:
✔️ An 18.5% pay rise over three years
✔️ A $2,500 Professional Development Allowance
✔️ Better incentives for regional and remote work

After six months of bargaining in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis, members are saying enough is enough. the NT Government must understand: without fair wages and conditions, the Territory simply cannot attract and retain the workforce it desperately needs.

📢 A protected action ballot opens at the end of August. If endorsed, actions could include strikes, overtime bans, paperwork bans, and public campaigning.

It’s time for the NT Government to respect Allied Health. ✊💜💚

The union representing allied health workers warns its members are prepared to strike over what they call an “abysmal pay offer” of 12.55 per cent over four years from the NT government.

💜 We did it! 💜

The HSU SA/NT just received confirmation from the government’s negotiators — the ballot for a standalone Allied Health Enterprise Agreement was SUCCESSFUL!

✅ 80.1% voted YES
📊 71.3% turnout – the highest we’ve seen in a public sector EA ballot

Well bloody done!
This is a historic moment for Allied Health in South Australia — proof that when we stand together and speak with one voice, we can win long-lasting, meaningful change.

To every member who voted, campaigned, rallied, wore purple, talked to your colleagues, and joined the HSU during this fight — thank you. This victory belongs to you.

And this is just the beginning. With a dedicated EA, we now have the platform to keep building better conditions for Allied Health — but we need everyone on board.
