🚨 NT Allied Health Workers Say Enough is Enough 🚨
The Northern Territory Government has put forward an abysmal 12.55% pay offer over four years – and HSU members have made it clear: that’s not good enough.
As reported in today’s The NT News, HSU SA/NT Secretary Billy Elrick warned that members are preparing to take protected industrial action – including strikes – if the NT Government fails to deliver a fair deal.
Allied health professionals are the backbone of the NT health system. Yet they continue to be underpaid compared to their interstate colleagues, with some other states offering up to 20% more plus relocation packages. If the NT Government doesn’t act, it risks losing even more skilled professionals.
👉 HSU is calling for:
✔️ An 18.5% pay rise over three years
✔️ A $2,500 Professional Development Allowance
✔️ Better incentives for regional and remote work
After six months of bargaining in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis, members are saying enough is enough. the NT Government must understand: without fair wages and conditions, the Territory simply cannot attract and retain the workforce it desperately needs.
📢 A protected action ballot opens at the end of August. If endorsed, actions could include strikes, overtime bans, paperwork bans, and public campaigning.
It’s time for the NT Government to respect Allied Health. ✊💜💚
