The Australian & New Zealand Falls Prevention Society predicts that by 2051, due to an aging population, the number of hospital beds needed because of falls will nearly double! From 240,000 in 2010 to an alarming 450,000 per year.
The need for nursing home beds due to falls is also expected to rise from 800,000 in 2010 to nearly 1.8 million by 2051. 😟
Fall prevention devices are already more essential than ever. However, it appears that there is going to be an even greater need in the future.
Luckily, we have a wide range of solutions. Check out our comprehensive range of fall prevention products via the link in the comments!

According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, falls have consistently been the leading cause of injury hospitalisations, making up more than 40% of all injury-related admissions for the past few years. In 2021-2022 alone it cost the health system an estimated $4.7 billion with 238,055 hospitalisations.
Investing in fall prevention devices could reduce the number of hospitalisations, but it could also help relieve some of the financial strain for healthcare providers and patients alike.

According to the Australia & New Zealand Falls Prevention Society, falls account for a staggering 40% of injury-related deaths and 1% of all deaths among those aged 65 and over. 💔
That's a significant impact! But here's a glimmer of hope: many falls can be prevented with the right measures!
Here at cura1 we have created a variety of products that can be used to help prevent a fall.
Our ‘Fall Alert – Universal’ range offers bed/chair pads, floor mats and nurse call devices which can be used to alert carers when the person they care for gets out of a bed/chair and is mobile or requires some other assistance!

Nurse call systems have been shown to significantly reduce response times to patient requests. For instance, studies have indicated a reduction from an average of 5 minutes to as low as 1 minute.
The shift to shorter call times signifies increased operational efficiency and improved service delivery. Resulting in enhanced patient safety and satisfaction.
Our Multiport Expanders allow for a variety of alert devices to be connected directly into a nurse call system! Significantly increasing the opportunity for a medical professional to prevent a fall from occurring.

Over 30 years ago our managing director, Frank Nardone, noticed there was a lack of cost effective, easy to use devices to assist the healthcare industry with falls, delirium, and the safety of wandering residents. So out of our humble facilities in Kilkenny, South Australia, the concept of cura1 was established to provide Electronic Medical Care products that could be used in hospitals, aged care homes, retirement villages, dementia wards, independent living, residential care and clinics.
At cura1 everything we do is done to earn your respect and trust, from our exacting standards during product development and manufacturing, to our zealous servicing of your needs. We pledge to measure our success by your satisfaction.
“cura” – the Latin word for “care” personifies who we are as a company. Our staff are dedicated to the ongoing success of cura1 and proud to offer quality products that our clients highly value and respect and the users benefit from daily.
