🌟 The Stages of Aggression🌟

From the Aggression & Autism session by the Parental Stress Center, we recently have learned more about the five stages of aggression:

1️⃣ Trigger: A reaction begins—like sensory overload or a stressful event.

2️⃣ Escalation: Frustration builds, and signs like increased frustration, tense body language, or louder voices may begin to show.

3️⃣ Crisis: This is the peak of aggression, where emotions overflow and can look like yelling, crying, or other intense behaviors.

4️⃣ Recovery: After the storm passes, there’s an opportunity to cool down, reflect, and rebuild understanding. This phase is vital for learning and moving forward.

5️⃣ Post-Crisis: Fatigue and exhaustion, often accompanied by feelings of guilt and sadness may show. During this stage, support from outside may be necessary.

Being aware of these stages in ourselves and our loved ones helps us act early—while our rational brain is still active. Show your love ones empathy and understanding can stop aggression before it escalates! But always adjust your emotion FIRST and try to remain calm and empathetic. Deep breathing is good tool!

Let’s strive to create calmer, safer environments with patience and understanding. 💙🌱
