Happy Labour day Monday. 🤗

It's been a fabulous long weekend. The ☀️ is shining and this is my last day of looking after my grand fur child. Wet W***y Barney.

🔥TAPAS - the fire of discipline 🔥

This week in my Hatha class we have been practising and reflecting on TAPAS, the third Niyama in yoga. It's often described as discipline, but l see it as the inner fire that keeps us strong and steady.

Instead of looking for accountability outside of ourselves, what if we learned to hold that space within?
Burn away the thoughts that pop into our heads that are so untrue, 'l'm not strong enough, 'l'm not smart enough, etc, etc and start to lean into the strength we already carry.

On the mat, that may look like staying with a challenging pose a little longer. Off the mat, it's showing up for life's challenges with courage and resilience.

Tapas is the reminder that discipline isn't punishment -its empowerment 🔥

Is insomnia keeping you up too? 😳

I get it! Some nights my mind just won’t switch off—🤯

Insomnia was one of the symptoms l suffered terribly with in my perimenopause ( along with the night sweats) and l still experience the echo of Insomnia in my post menopause.

What helps me is yoga and breathwork.
Legs up the wall and the 4-7-8 breath work being the main techniques l use. They are not a magic fix, but enough to soften the edges, calm my system, and sometimes, that’s all I need to drift off.

So, if you’re wide awake at 3am, know you’re not alone!
There are ways to find a little more rest.😴

In the middle of life's noise, those quiet moments of true peace matter most.

Peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

🧘‍♀️ Yoga helps us find that peace—not outside, but within.

This week we are practicing through mindful movement, breath, and presence, building self-awareness.
We begin to notice how we feel.
We begin to respond, not react.

With regular practice, we begin to feel more in line with our lives and less driven by our reactions to situations .we develop tools to: Cultivate greater ease and lasting calm

It’s not about perfect poses.
It’s about coming home to yourself.

🌸 Start where you are. Come as you are.
Peace is already within—you just need to give it space to rise.
