Need a breather? BoraCare’s respite services are here to support you and your carer by giving you space to recharge, reset, and do things independently whether it’s for a few hours, a weekend, or even longer.

Whether it’s a fun day out at the beach, a movie and lunch, a quiet afternoon at the library, or getting stuck into a creative project - respite can look different for everyone. We tailor it to what feels good for you.

We currently have capacity to explore new referrals, so if you or someone you know could benefit from a little time out, we’d love to chat.

BoraCare at NAIDOC Week Picnic in the Park 🌿
We were proud to join the celebrations alongside Nunyara Aboriginal Health Service Inc this week, coming together to honour the rich history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

National NAIDOC Week is a time to reflect, connect, and celebrate the strength and spirit of First Nations communities. We're incredibly grateful to partner with services like Nunyara, who are deeply rooted in community and culture.

🌿 We had a fantastic time touring TAFE SA's Urrbrae Campus yesterday! From conservation and horticulture to agriculture and ecosystem studies, their hands-on learning spaces are just so impressive.
Did you know TAFE Urrbrae offers tours of their grounds? They’re accessible, inclusive, and perfect for a social or community outing, get in touch with them to book. Plus, don’t miss their monthly fresh food market! 🥕🍇

Having partnered with TAFE SA before, we’re excited about future opportunities to collaborate with the Urrbrae Campus on the development of sustainable, sensory-friendly gardens for those we support. 💚

Born in Adelaide to former refugee parents, Vicki has carved her own path through talent, drive, and community spirit. She earned an Excellence Scholarship from Sports College SA, supported by Football SA and Adelaide United, to pursue soccer and physiotherapy — all while mentoring young players and inspiring the next generation.

Today, on National Sorry Day, we reflect on the strength and resilience of the Stolen Generations and their families, and acknowledge the ongoing impacts of past injustices.

At Boracare, we are committed to reconciliation. Through our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan, we continue to learn and grow—guided by the cultural insights we gained through training with Renee Andrew from Arraru Yakka (pictured).

Arraru Yakka delivers training which helps build cultural capability by planting seeds and creating space for growth, a message that continues to shape our journey.

We encourage our network to explore and engage with:
Reconciliation Australia - offering valuable resources to support learning, reflection, and action.

The Healing Foundation – working in partnership with communities to address the ongoing trauma caused by actions like the forced removal of children from their families.
