My darling dad, this afternoon as mum, myself Jon and Jeremy were with him, left us to be in the loving arms of Jesus. There are no words to describe the profound sense of loss, the tender love I have for him or the depth of gratitude that he was my father.
Beautiful memories topple through my mind of him pretending to be Santa delivering presents each Christmas Eve, taking us on rambles through the English countryside, pulling us on sledges over snow in winter, walking me down the aisle, being one of the kindest most gentle men I have ever met, with a cheeky grin and sense of humour that kept going even in his final days.
He was a man of deep faith who loved my mum devotedly for over 60 years, he loved his childhood home of Derbyshire, cricket, soccer, green countryside, his kids and grandkids as well as being a father figure to many.
Love you dad, miss you deeply
