Struggling with Jaw Pain, Clicking, or Headaches? It Could Be Your TMJ.

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) connects your jaw to your skull — and like any joint, it needs full movement and proper muscle control to function well.

TMJ disorders can lead to a range of symptoms, including:
🔹 Clicking, popping, or grinding sounds
🔹 Jaw locking or difficulty opening your mouth
🔹 Pain around your jaw, ear, or face
🔹 Headaches
🔹 Trouble chewing or biting

At Move for Better Health™, our experienced Physiotherapists have advanced training in TMJ assessment and treatment — a specialised area often overlooked in general physio practice.

Your treatment may include:
✔️ Hands-on therapy
✔️ Targeted exercises
✔️ Lifestyle and posture advice
✔️ Collaboration with your Dentist or GP

We start with a thorough assessment of your jaw, neck, and TMJ function to find the root of your pain. Most people benefit from 4–5 sessions, but every plan is tailored to your unique needs.

Ever wondered "what should I wear to my appointment?"

Wearing comfortable and unrestrictive clothing can help your appointment run more smoothly - for both you and your practitioner!

👖 Coming in for a knee issue? Tight jeans might not be the most practical choice. Pick shorts instead.
👗 Got a back concern? A dress could make assessment or treatment a little tricky! Wearing something that your practitioner can easily work around to assess the area in question is best.
🏃‍♀️ Attending an exercise session? Activewear or unrestrictive clothing is ideal!

If you're ever unsure, just ask! Don’t worry, we have a few spare pairs of shorts available if needed
