Did you know your internal body temperature matters?
Often your Chinese medicine practitioner will ask if you run hot or cold, or if you prefer the temperature in summer or winter.
We don’t want too much heat or too much cold.
Heat can present as inflammation, rashes, night sweats, insomnia, palpitations, anger, rapid pulses, constipation, anxiety, acne, nose bleeds, mouth sores, heavy menstrual bleeding.
Cold can present as cold hands and feet, cold lower back, fatigue, low energy, low appetite, bloating, sharp pains, fluid retention, painful periods, fertility issues, pain, stiff joints.
In clinic we have tools to help release cold from the body and replace it with warms, and release heat and toxins from the body.
The body wants to be in balance. Sometimes our food or lifestyle can throw this balance out.
Some things I recommend for everyone to support this balance.
1. Drink only room temp or warm water
2. Eat soup daily
3. Limit drying and dehydrating foods - coffee, onion, garlic, hot spices, alcohol, chocolate, sugar, processed foods.
4. Avoid cold foods, salads, ice-cream, iced drinks.
I am here to share this medicine.
