Most women with endometriosis wait 7–10 years for a diagnosis. Not because they didn’t speak up, but because the system often isn’t set up to listen.
Symptoms get dismissed. Scans come back “normal.” Pain gets normalised. And the result is women being left second-guessing themselves when they should be getting answers. 👎🏽
Endometriosis impacts the body in more ways than people often realise, and there are often symptoms that are worth taking seriously. 👏🏽
Remember:
- A normal ultrasound does not rule out endometriosis
- Painful periods are common, but they are not something you just have to live with
- Endometriosis can affect your gut, bladder, pelvic floor, nervous system, and mental health, not just your reproductive organs
- You don’t need a confirmed diagnosis to start getting support
Care can begin now, and it works best when it treats the whole person, not just the lesions. 🫶🏽
You need a multidisciplinary team — GP, gynaecologist, pelvic health physiotherapist, dietitian, and psychologist — to work together so that no part of your health falls through the cracks. 💖
