🎃 Spooky season is here! 🧡
As our little (and not-so-little) ones head out for trick-or-treating tonight, here are some gentle reminders to help keep the night safe, inclusive and enjoyable for all kids - neurodiverse, sensory-sensitive, shy or bold.
🕯️ Only knock on homes that are clearly welcoming of trick-or-treaters
Look for decorations, pumpkins or welcome signs - not every house celebrates Halloween, and that’s okay.

🧠 Not every child will be in costume
Sensory needs can make costumes uncomfortable. A child in plain clothes holding a bucket is still there to join the fun.
🗣️ Some kids may not say “trick or treat” or “thank you”
Communication differences or social anxiety can make these moments hard - kindness means everything.
🧺 Teens are trick-or-treating too
Some may be developmentally younger, supporting other children, or just trying to hold onto childhood joy. Let them enjoy the magic - growing up comes fast enough.
🍬 A quick treat check
Remind kids to wait until an adult checks their goodies, just to be safe.
Wishing you all a Happy Halloween - with a little boo, a little giggle, a little fright and a lot of delight! 👻🧡🎃
