Wellness Wednesdays: Autumn and Seasonal Eating 🍂
We spoke to our dietitians, Sam and Vione, to bring you the best advice on eating well this Autumn – a season that calls for warm and nourishing foods, particularly those in season in South Australia right now. Think root vegetables like pumpkin and sweet potatoes, along with stone fruits such as plums, peaches, and nectarines. Eating seasonal produce is a fantastic way to enjoy fresh, nutrient-rich food while supporting your health.
Root vegetables are rich in fibre, antioxidants, and vitamins like A and C, which help support your immune system, promote digestion, and boost skin health. Stone fruits are loaded with vitamins, antioxidants, and fibre, supporting heart health and offering anti-inflammatory benefits.
To add more seasonal produce to your meals, try incorporating them into dishes you already love—think stir fry, casseroles, and soups.
