FREE Su***de Prevention Training for Disability Support Workers in SA!

In the disability sector, you aren't just a support worker; you are often the person best placed to notice when something isn't right. Knowing how to spot the signs and start a life-saving conversation is one of the most powerful tools you can have.

Wesley LifeForce is hosting a FREE 2.5-hour workshop specifically tailored for the disability sector. Developed in consultation with lived experience and industry providers, this session covers:
✅ Safe use of language and active listening.
✅ Identifying risk factors and warning signs.
✅ How to ask about su***de and safety planning.
✅ Essential self-care for you.

Working in a café requires more than technical brewing skills—it requires people skills! A big part of our Barista Skillz program is preparing participants for the daily flow and demands of a busy workplace.

What can be expected on a "Workplace Readiness" day? We break down essential café routines:

Opening Procedures: Setting up the machine, preparing ingredients, and understanding hygiene.

Customer Service: Learning how to take orders confidently, manage a queue, and make every interaction friendly.

Handling Challenges: We practice calm, respectful strategies for managing tricky requests or conflicts—skills that are incredibly useful in any job or everyday situation!

By understanding and practicing these routines in our small, supportive groups, participants gain the confidence needed to step into any café role feeling prepared.

Getting Technical: The Magic of Espresso and Milk Steaming!

Have you ever wondered what goes into a truly great coffee?
In Barista Skillz, we dedicate significant time to mastering the fundamentals!

On a typical session focusing on espresso: We get right onto the machine! Participants learn how to properly grind the beans, achieve the right extraction for a balanced shot, and understand the different variables that impact flavour.

Then comes the milk! It's not just about heating it up—it’s about creating the perfect texture (microfoam) for specific drinks. We practice the correct technique for steaming, pouring, and then moving into the fun part: Latte Art!

This hands-on practice in a real café environment is key to building comfort and competence. It’s practical learning that you can apply right away!
