Watson Headache Approach

Watson Headache Approach The Watson Headache® Approach, is a protocol for the skilled assessment & treatment of the upper ce (1) Watson DH, Drummond PD. Headache 2014;54:1035-1045

The Watson Headache® Approach is based on 22000 hours of clinical experience with over 8000 headache and migraine sufferers. The Watson Headache® Approach comprises a series of innovative techniques which enables selectively stressing an intervertebral segment (with the express purpose of reproduction of accustomed head pain and / or symptoms) and not the adjacent segment. This then identifies the segment which is (likely to be) responsible for referred pain. Relevancy is confirmed by another unique feature of the Approach i.e., resolution of head pain and / or symptoms as the technique is sustained. Reproduction and Resolution = Relevancy™ is a fundamental, indispensable attribute of the Watson Headache® Approach. This series of techniques are then used in an unparalleled clinical reasoning process, exclusive to the Watson Headache® Approach i.e., Battle 1 & Battle 2™

Currently, pioneering research(1) has shown that Reproduction and Resolution = Relevancy™ de-sensitises the brainstem - the fundamental disorder of headache and migraine. The Watson Headache® Approach is the only cervical manual therapy approach which has been shown scientifically to positively affect the underlying disorder of headache and migraine conditions.
