A gentle invitation to slow down…
to soften the body, quieten the mind, and return to the breath.

This week we turn inward through restorative asana and pranayama — supporting the nervous system, nourishing the subtle body, and allowing deep replenishment.

As B.K.S. Iyengar reminds us:

Why we chant the Invocation to Patañjali at the beginning of class ✨

We begin by chanting to Patañjali to honour the lineage of yoga.
It is an invocation for clarity of mind, steadiness of body, and humility in practice.
Patañjali is revered as the guide who gave yoga its structure—through discipline, self-study, and transformation.
By chanting, we settle the mind, connect to tradition, and prepare ourselves to practise with awareness and respect.
The chant reminds us that yoga is not only about postures, but about refining the whole being.

Parvatasana in Swastikasana 🕉️
As taught by BKS Iyengar in Arogya Yoga.
Root the legs.
Steady the seat.
Interlace the fingers and lift the arms — not just upward, but from the base of the spine.
This simple action brings space to the chest, lightness to the spine, and calm to the mind.
A reminder that health in yoga is cultivated through alignment, awareness, and breath.
Small pose. Deep effect.💜🙏🏻☺️
