I’ve been trialling OEA with a few patients lately, and the results have been really interesting.
One patient in particular had been working with me for about 2 months. We had already started making some good progress with her nutrition and metabolic health, but the biggest shift happened when we introduced OEA.
In just 2.5 weeks she lost 3 kg.
Now, this wasn’t a magic pill situation. We had already laid the groundwork with diet, blood sugar support and lifestyle changes. But OEA seemed to help her body switch on the signals that regulate hunger and fat metabolism more effectively.
Research shows OEA works through several integrated pathways in the body:
• Stimulates GLP-1 activity, supporting satiety and blood sugar regulation
• Delays meal initiation and reduces meal size, helping people feel satisfied for longer
• Enhances fatty acid uptake and lipolysis, encouraging the body to burn fat for energy
• Modulates dopamine and endocannabinoid signalling, reducing reward-driven overeating
Another area where this is becoming really interesting is supporting people coming off GLP-1 medications.
Because OEA can help continue suppressing excessive hunger, it may help extend the benefits once the weekly injection window passes, supporting appetite regulation while the body readjusts.
It’s early days, but the gut-brain-metabolism connection here is fascinating.
And it’s a great reminder that sometimes the body just needs the right signals switched back on.
