What not to say to a pain specialist?? Avoid downplaying, exaggerating, or misrepresenting your pain, as this can hinder accurate diagnosis and treatment. Don't request specific medications, as this can be perceived as drug-seeking behavior. Instead of saying "I've tried everything," be prepared to list what you've tried and its effects to show you've been an active participant in your care. Also, be open about any “alternative treatments” you're considering, as hiding them prevents the General Practitioner from having a complete picture of your health.
