The winter season is truly upon us and with this season comes the unwelcome guest of winter illness. 🤧

Currently Queensland Health has had to temporarily cancel some elective surgeries as hospital admissions have increased over the last few weeks.

The flu, COVID and RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) are affecting many people right now.

These are all potentially serious and may lead to hospitalisation.

It's not too late to get yourself and your family immunised so book an appointment to see your GP!

Have you heard about the National Lung Cancer Screening Program?

From July 2025, eligible people in Australia will be able to participate in screening for lung cancer through the National Lung Cancer Screening Program.
Low-dose computed tomography (CT) scans in the program are covered by Medicare.
Screening is a way of finding signs of cancer in people who do not have any symptoms. The goal is to find cancer early, when it is easier to treat.

You are eligible for the program if you meet all of the below criteria –
• Are aged 50 – 70 years
And
• Have no symptoms or signs that suggest lung cancer
And
• Smoke to***co ci******es or have a history of cigarette smoking (having quit within 10 years)
And
• Are a current smoker or have a history of to***co cigarette smoking of at least 30 pack-years (eg. 20 ci******es a day = 1 pack - year)

In honour of National Receptionist Day today, we would like to recognise our hard working Receptionists.

Our Reception team meet our patients with welcoming smiles on a daily basis. They understand the importance of maintaining positive and supportive relationships with our patients and also with our patients’ families and caregivers.

Among many duties, including answering calls, checking patients in and out of appointments, and relaying important messages, our Receptionists work endlessly to make patient experience as seamless as possible.

🩺 Looking for a doctor who listens, cares, and puts your health first? 🩺

Dr Nabeel Dastagir is here to help you and your family stay healthy and thrive.

Dr Nabeel graduated from his medical degree at James Cook University in 2019. He worked for a few years at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in various departments such as emergency, general medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics/gynaecology, orthopaedics, pain medicine, rehabilitation and mental health.

Nabeel enjoys all aspects of general practice, with a particular interest in sports medicine and preventative health.

When not working, Nabeel enjoys travelling, going to the gym, playing soccer and martial arts.

Dr Nabeel Dastagir works Monday to Friday.

Flu Clinics now available!

Queensland Government is providing free Flu Vaccinations for all Queenslanders 6 months of age and over. The Flu Vaccine clinic is for all patients from 6 months of age and over to book in for an Influenza Vaccination only.

*If you require a script, referral or results, please book another appointment with your regular GP.
