Choosing a running shoe when you’re hypermobile can be a real challenge. One of the biggest issues is finding a shoe wide enough in the toes but tight around the ankle.

Here are three shoes I often recommend to address these issues.

A bunion occurs when the big toe start to turn toward the second toe.

We use kinesiology tape to gently straighten the toe. This will not fix the bunion but can reduce pain in the joint and foot.

A tailors bunion (or bunionette) can develop from wearing tight, pointed shoes and lead to pain in the joint.

This taping can help reduce some of the stress on the joint, reducing your pain.

This is my most used taping technique for treating plantar fasciitis. We use rigid strapping to help take strain out of the arch and reduce stress in the plantar fascia.
