A quiet moment, a cup of tea and something new to learn!

I’ve always loved learning. Not just professionally, but as part of who I am. It keeps me curious, grounded and constantly evolving.

When I think about it, that love of learning runs deep in my family. My grandma was still studying and teaching well into her 90s, running the University of the Third Age. Learning isn’t something you grow out of, it is a way to stay engaged, purposeful and connected.

So whether it’s nutrition, health or understanding how our bodies actually work, I’m always reading, learning and refining. Not because I have to but because I truly love it!

You don’t need a new year to start looking after your health, but sometimes it gives us the nudge we need!

January often brings big promises, strict rules and “all-or-nothing” thinking. And while the calendar changing doesn’t magically change our habits, it can offer a moment to pause, reflect and reset.

If you’ve set a New Year’s resolution around your health, I want you to know that it doesn’t have to be extreme, it doesn’t have to be perfect and it definitely doesn’t have to start on a Monday

Real, lasting change comes from small and simple nutritional changes that fit into real life. This means fitting into your busy schedule, family meal preferences, work stress and all.

Maybe this “fresh start” looks like:
• eating a proper breakfast instead of running on coffee
• adding more protein and fibre to your meals
• drinking more water
• planning ahead just a little more
• or finally putting your health back on the priority list
And if you didn’t make a resolution at all, that’s okay too. You’re not behind. You can start today, tomorrow, or whenever you’re ready.

Health isn’t about a date on the calendar.
It’s about choosing yourself, one small step at a time.
If this year feels like the year you’re ready for support, guidance and a realistic approach to nutrition, I’d love to see you in my office!

New Years Resolutions

You don’t need a new year to start looking after your health, but sometimes it gives us the nudge we need!

Client Testimonial

“I reached a point where I was just so tired of… being tired. I had little energy, constant bloating, and ongoing digestive issues. I knew I needed to make a change, but I had no idea where to start or what would actually work.

A friend recommended I see Jess, and from our very first session I knew I was in good hands. She gave me the personalised advice and education I’d been missing, and helped me understand why certain changes were important, which made it so much easier to follow through.

Since working together, I’m no longer yawning my way through the day. My energy is back, my digestion has improved, and I feel so much happier in myself. The process wasn’t hard or restrictive and it was surprisingly simple once I understood what my body needed.

One thing I’ve really appreciated is the take-home information Jess provides. It’s been great to refer back to, so I can keep learning and reinforcing what I’ve changed.

If you’re feeling the way I was, my advice is simple: don’t wait — start now. You’ll thank yourself later.”

Why You Haven’t Lost Weight – Even if You’re Counting Your Calories

You’ve been tracking every bite, measuring portions, and sticking to your calorie target… yet the scales won’t budge. Sound familiar?

Here’s the thing, weight loss isn’t just about calories in vs. calories out!

Other factors could be holding you back, including:
-Protein intake: Not getting enough can slow your metabolism and make you hungrier.
-Quality of calories: 1,500 calories of whole foods fuels your body very differently to 1,500 calories of processed snacks.
-Stress and sleep: High stress and poor sleep disrupt hunger hormones and fat storage.
-Hidden inflammation or sensitivities: Your body may be fighting food it doesn’t agree with. (A hair test might help!)
-Strength training: Without building muscle, your metabolism can slow over time.

The key is looking at the bigger picture of your nutrition quality, lifestyle habits, hormones, and muscle health. It’s not just numbers on a tracker.
If you’ve been “doing everything right” and still not seeing results, it’s time for a new approach.

Reach out and let’s chat about what’s really going on.

Grilled Chicken & Quinoa Bowl

Want a balanced and nourishing bowl perfect for lunch or dinner? Packed with 40g of protein, fibre-rich quinoa, and colourful veggies. This simple dish is delicious, satisfying, and great for meal prep! Drizzled with a zesty dressing, it's a healthy meal the whole family can enjoy.

Ingredients
-150 grams Chicken Breast (boneless, skinless)
-2 tsps Extra Virgin Olive Oil (divided)
-2 tsps Lemon Juice (divided)
-2/3 tsp Italian Seasoning (divided)
-1/4 cup Quinoa (dry, rinsed)
-1 1/3 tbsps Feta Cheese (crumbled)
-1/8 Cucumber (large, diced)
-2/3 cup Cherry Tomatoes (halved)
-1 1/3 tbsps Red Onion (finely chopped)
-2 2/3 tbsps Pitted Kalamata Olives (chopped)

Method:
1-Marinate the chicken in the fridge for at least 30 minutes with half each of
the oil, lemon juice, and Italian seasoning.
2-Cook the quinoa according to the package directions.
3-Gently toss the feta in the remaining oil, lemon juice, and seasoning.
4-Meanwhile, preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the chicken for eight
to 10 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Let rest for five minutes
before slicing into bite-sized pieces.
5-Divide the cooked quinoa, chicken, cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, and
olives evenly into bowls. Top with the feta mixture. Enjoy!
